This is so cute! The best thing about this journal is, you are so right that we always want room to grow our journals! This method is very flexible so it can grow as you work through to the finish. <3 Great idea!!! I know Im commenting a year and a half later, but I just found you. I have a couple of thoughts to make this easier to do so I wanted to share them with you. First tip: To make stabbing the ribbon holes easier, just put the middle of the folded pages into an open phone book (or old book that you are using for scrap pages) and into the crease of the center. Doing this will cradle the fold for an easy pierce with the awl and saving you workspace from piercing scars. Second tip: to thread the ribbon (or cord, or whatever) buy a package of floss (yes for teeth) threaders for like $2 and get a whole bunch of re-usable threaders. I'm going on 5 years now and have most of the package unused! They have a huge loop for whatever you are using to sew with, and a stiff narrow end to push through the hole. Easy peasy!

  • thank you so much for this video! I’ve looked around all over YouTube for the “perfect” junk journal starting video. Your ‘messy style’ and “no real measuring “ (which girl is my style ...me and rulers hate each other haha! Your personality is awesome and the lack of cuts in the video makes it feel like you’re my BFF in my teen room teaching me these glorious junk journal tips and tricks! For sure gonna be checking out more of your videos/channel..subscribed already and notifications are on 😀
