  • April 5th, 1942 - Off Ceylon, Indian Ocean. The RN units in the Asia Station (Ceylon) where taken under attack by the naval and air forces of the Empire of Japan, at a heavy cost the Royal Navy and RAF defended their position in Ceylon inflicting devastating losses to the Japanese navy in the process. After the defense of the Airfield at Colombo, Forces A and B put to sea, under the command of Vice Admiral Sir James Somerville, from Tricomalee. They engaged the Japanese fleet in the Indian Ocean resulting in the sinking of 5 fleet carriers, 2 heavy cruisers and 1 battleship. This action cost the Royal Navy one of its Fleet Carriers, the Indomitable, 3 of its Revenge-class battleships and a number of escorts, although costly this surface action has anninhilated the naval air capabilities of Japan, the destruction of the "Kido Butai" could prove to be a turning point in the Pacific War.

FINALLY a mission where the ASW Fletcher gets to see some proper USE. Honestly the main game had such a wasted potential in the US campaign by having no submarines to deal with, especially with a dedicated ASW craft.
  • @Caktusdud.
Imagine the full royal navy vs full Japanese navy
  • That troll though, they made us think that we beat that mission and then suddenly it's like "oh wait you're not done yet"

"None of us deserve to return, the shame we have brought on the Japanese empire will not be forgotten."
  • @juri8723
shame the Japanese didnt find the squadron led by HMS Revenge. It would have been good target practice. Kido Butai was invincible during that time in the war.
  • @AxisCrusher
Haha first time you played the mission (your stream) you got completely wasted during the first stage!
