I love the whole "buried in concrete" thing. To me it shows John knew if he EVER had to return, he would need enough strength, will, and purpose to smash through all that. Pretty dope.

THE SPEECH THAT STARTED IT ALL!!! It is undeniable that Michael Nyqvist's delivery of this speech set the tone for what was to come and was a pinnacle part of Creating the Legend of JOHN FUCKING WICK!

Imagine knowing your son is a dead man walking and realizing, for all your power in the criminal underworld, there is nothing you can do to save him from the consequences of his own actions.

If he got Allstate insurance, he would’ve been protected from mayhem 😂

What I love about this scene is that Viggo is one of the few people who have seen the monster that John can be and you can see the fear in his eyes when he tells the bar story.

A 5 minute scene that started a billion dollar franchise.

Every actor in this scene seriously did such a damn good job. From telling a story about the man who singlehandedly built your empire for you through piles of bodies to the fear that is shown in the sons eyes when he is hugged, the small mannerisms when sipping the "alcohol" in the scene make it feel so real, even the advisor/lawyer dudes reactions are on point and his body language says he does not want to be there. So much about this scene comes together to make it good but holy crap the actors made it flawless.

“Well, John wasn’t exactly the bogeyman, he was the one you sent to kill the f**** bogeyman” I honest to God wasn’t sure about this movie until that line and then I was sold such a great scene!

“He didn’t hear a fucking word I said” ☠️🤣🤣🤣

Gotta say, the kid's a bit dim. First Aurelio freaks out when he sees the car, then his father beats the crap out of him about it. And he still thinks Wick is a "Fuckin' Nobody."

He told you everything about John Wick with the call to Aurelio. Anger at the guy who hit his son instantly became anger at his son when he heard why.

The way he hugged his son knowing what was coming for him was as inevitable as the next sunrise. He wasn't mad at him, he was mourning for him.

Usually a “This is how bad a person is” speech feels too much like a grinding info dump. Somehow Michael Nyqvist makes it sound like a terrifying omen.

"I once saw him kill three men in a bar with a pencil. With...a fucking...pencil."

This movie made "oh" one of the greatest lines in cinema. Well sir, he stole John Wick's car and killed his dog..."oh". He was the one you sent to kill the fucking Boogie Man...."oh". Followed by a close second in "What the! Did he hear a fucking word I said??"

This scene has more layers and storytelling than some films. So much told and explained you can’t go into it all at once. My favorite part is how this organization actually honored its word when John completed “an impossible task”. Shows it has a code of honor

John Wick personifies the "fuck around and find out" term.
