Unfair Weather

Exploding from the forest leaving fire in my wake
I'm on the run from demons now until the evening breaks
I hope I find my sacred shelter before the blackness swallows day

My heart is pounding loud enough to send a telegram
An S.O.S. of desperation to the wooded land
But if anyone can read it I guess they've nothing more to say

White knuckling the steering wheel, I'm sweating out of fear
I'd settle for a roach motel if it's anywhere but here
I need a place to ride it out until the break of dawn

The generator's running low, we just don't have the fuel
I want to go and get some more but you think I'm a fool
so I know the gaslight's shining and my nerves keep running on

I'm in my house
I wanna go home
I'm in my house
I wanna go home
The wind and rain and snow have taken home from me
no one'll help me

I made it to a Super 8, it's lights warm me inside
I dry my cheeks with my own shirt still wet from the last time
Amazing how much love I feel from a dingy old motel

But it's better than woods they are so cold and dark and mean
The yelling comes to make it worse I am not a machine
but sometimes I wish I could be maybe you would love me then

It's hard for me to talk to you, it's why I stay away
Then stronger winds will make me come above the ground today
But every time it happens I wish that it had buried me

I know I'm far from perfect, I don't even think I'm good
We felt better all around when we lived in the neighborhood
I think this place is evil but I know you won't agree

I'm in my house
I wanna go home
I'm in my house
I wanna go home
The wind and rain and snow have taken home from me
no one'll help me
