In this video, I dive into J.J. McCarthy's football career, tracing his path from high school to the NFL Draft. I then elaborate why landing in Minnesota was the ideal destination for McCarthy.

I couldn't agree more! I lived in Colorado for twenty years, this young man reminds me of John Elway. He has similar talents and arm strength with a natural leadership quality. He's going to be exciting to watch once he gets going.
  • Terrific video. Well done. JJ is a stud. Michigan Alum here. JJ is the best QB we've had at Michigan in my lifetime. I've been going to UM games since 1983 and graduated in 1991 with ChemEng Degree. Go Blue!

Nice work Ty! I don't comment on a lot of videos, but I see your channel is just getting started and this video was very well done!! Keep going! SKOL vikes!! :)
  • Bro I can't stand that so many people are already writing him off without even playing a single snap.

EXCELLENT video!!! I love how you waited and pieced together the OTA footage, and your insight on JJ is dead on! Again, WELL DONE! And thanks for this excellent vid!!!

Great take… I’m from, Michigan so the only thing I’m upset with is where he went! Because now my, Detroit Lions have to see him twice a year. Lol But I can’t stand the term, “Game Manager” because that’s EXACTLY what a Quarterback’s job is! You’re an extension of your head coach and OC, your job is to run and manage the team and be a leader. Control the huddle, protect the ball, read defenses and move your team down the field and score. Give me a “Game Manager” all day! #OnePride✊🏾🦁💙 #GoBlue
  • I subscribed because of the in depth commentary going back to high school. I've been binge watching McCarthy videos and it's nice to have someone add the hidden details along with the obvious. Did you know McCarthy asked the varsity coach in 7th grade if he could work out with the starters? The coach said "Sure, Why not?" expecting him to do two or three practices and quit. JJ showed up every day and put in extra work. It's all this kid wants.

I LOVE J.J. McCarthy and everything about him. This kid is going to be a STUD. Already pre-ordered and got my McCarthy jersey. SKOL

yo way to do some numbers with this vid

It's as you showed. JJ has a chance to be special because of what he does on third down. He converts. That chart showed where he stood when it comes to being a QB, Third and 6+ and you need to get that first down he gets them and supposedly Michigan's WRs were not elite so it shows how much he did for that offence if that is the case.

I can't wait....that said, 26 year old.Sam Darnold will excel with all the talent around him. Skol😮

If your main downside is that you didn't pad your stats while playing championship football, I'd say thank goodness we got this guy in Purple. Skol! Not sure when he'll see the field, but I think it's gonna be good when it happens.

Really, if something is working, why change it. He will be good for the Vikings.

All these people crying about how JJ didn’t throw the ball much, I’ll take wins over yards! We had a QB who threw for over 4,000+ yards a season for 6 years, and won 1 playoff game. Being able to handle pressure in big moments and win is way more important! I’ll take that any day over a QB that throws for 4,000 yards a season but chokes in the biggest moments!
  • I mean, there are valid criticisms about McCarthy, just like all the other prospects in the draft. (A major one being that he seemingly lacks the knowledge when to put a little float on the ball, rather he just throws bullets all the time.) But there are a lot of things to credit him for, such as his maturity and arm strength. At this point, all we can do is speculate, and we’ll see come regular season.
