People are still complaining about 3ds Max for not having a lot of features, but in reality, they suck and don't know how to use the software probarly, this video is a great example, thank you.
  • @TextureSupply
20 years in and I've literally never noticed this buttons existence. 😂
  • @CristianStancu
24 years of 3ds max here as well, didn’t see that button either. Hope that makes you feel normal 😂

Had I died this morning I would've never known this option existed... Jesus... Another incredible find! Great job Vjeko! 💪
  • @RenderRam
If you knew about Acquire... you're officially a PRO
  • @Mr1Zizou
clicked out of curiosity, now thanks to you I have a magic skill added to my humbled knowledge

Like yourself, I've been using 3ds max since the early versions (3d Studio Max 2.5)...and I remember this Acquire button being there since forever and part of my daily workflow...I never thought it was so little known

I did use this in the past. Maybe in the early 2000's but it was mostly for Shop fronts with similar proportions. This is your genius approach that you used it like this. Maybe Autodesk should send you a thankyou letter for making it usable years later.

I pretty much use it daily to transfer UVs from already mapped objects to newly created ones. But it's fascinating how you found completely new uses for it that I wouldn't have ever thought of :D I guess it's just one of those things that seem obvious if you know about it but many people obviously don't.

No one knew existed? LOL I've been using Acquire in the UVW Map modifier for many years!
  • Hey, I checked out your video just yesterday, and I applied the feature you demonstrated today. It really saved me a ton of work. Thanks a bunch!
  • @yamar4116
Each time I watch your videos I feel like I get a mandella effect - how didn't I know this was there!!!
  • Kinda feel embarassed lol, how nay years...and god knows how many features im.missing. good job

Thank you!! more proof that this channel is must watch. I always learn (acquire) something from you..and I've been using max for several thousand years. Until 5 minutes ago when I started watching this video, I would have used the more complicated projection modifier which I now realize is less efficient and slower than this simple trick...Keep it up!
  • @L30nHbl
WTF... that is crazy! thanks alot!
  • Superb, been using Max since v1.0, never knew this. Exceptionally useful time saver! Thankyou! As always, informative and entertaining!

Actually i use similar feature in blender called "project from view" in unwraping and even use texture painting clone tool to match the two projected maps that way you can perfectly apply textures, even cool that you can rotate your shoe and paint only certain parts of the mesh.
