If you get a second one, you can power them with a DC voltage, connect them together and use them as an intercom.

Actually, setting up a personal phone system on ones property is relatively easy, and even the old ringer phones can be used. It is tremndous fun, and quite a novelty for guests to call other rooms on old dial and ringer phones 😃

I'm amazed by how little rust there was on this, especially when the wood literally fell apart... ... this must have been taken care of for a while, or at least kept somewhere dry and clean-ish. Lovely restoration!

I watch a lot of restoration videos, I love them. I have to say this is one of the more interesting and satisfying restoration videos I've seen. The phone is absolutely beautiful. And I love that you used the original cords.

Très belle restauration d'un Marty 1910 de première génération avec cadre en bois fruitier, laiton chromé et bakélite, plus tard simplifié par l'utilisation de sapin et de tôle peinte en noir dans les années 1940. Mise à part le problème de numérotation et la nécessité d'utiliser une batterie locale (pas de tension de ligne à l'époque) et une sonnette externe, ça devrait pouvoir fonctionner derrière une Bbox avec un petit montage électronique d'interface...

Actually having the wood come apart is a huge bonus. I found a Western Electric wood wall set in the trash in about the same condition. Being able to reglue all of the joints and clamp it makes for a really clean and thorough rebuild. Thanks for keeping the old school phones relevant.
