  • The location where the school is should be turned into a memorial garden with a fountain. I don’t blame the kids and staff for not ever wanting to set foot in the school again. My heart and prayers go out to the families of those who lost their lives especially the kids and my thoughts and prayers go out to those who were hurt and survived. The cops who refused to act right away should be ashamed of themselves.

this is a great decision, no child or teacher should ever walk back into that building and be reminded of what happened all over again. this is all too distressing. my continued prayers and thoughts go to the families and friends who have been affected by this. ♥️

Being elementary was the best time in my life. No worries just a joyful time. Now it's sad to see children experience this kind of tragedy to not feel safe going to school. I hope everyone finds peace. I wonder what is going to become of the location after the school is taken down.

I wish kids were safe at elementary schools, all the time. It's unbelievable things like that can happen to any kids in school. I just hope that it will never happen again.
  • I’m glad they won’t have to go back there. It would traumatize them all over again if they had to step in to that building again.

How sad, but an appropriate decision. The memories are too painful. Starting over will be much healthier for the staff and kids.

The cops should be held accountable, they have weapons the children didn’t, the children had phones to call for help. Hands to hold closely. They didn’t have a way to protect each other from being stuck in a room. 🥺

I work at a school in Canada. I would be very happy and honoured to fly down and volunteer to pack up classrooms. I can’t imagine any current staff walking back in those hallways . I understand how much work it is to pack up and move classrooms. If there’s a way to help, I’m here for you.

Seeing those children's smiling faces breaks my heart every time I see a news story about them. I can't even imagine the horror and pain that these poor little children suffered through in their last moments. I can't even begin to imagine the overwhelming grief and heartache their loss brings to their families, to their surviving friends/classmates, and their communities as a whole. This should not have happened. I really hope that the families of these children receive all the support and therapy that they need in the aftermath of their trauma.
  • The children who lived through this horror will never trust police again.

This should be a memorial! Their lives deserve to always be remembered! People should be able to pay their respect anytime! They will be remembered! 🙏🏾❤️🙏🏾

It’s so tragic. In this country, you can’t even go to a concert, a supermarket, a CHURCH without fear. No child should have to fear going to school, yet, here we are, and instead of fixing the problem at the root, we’re….. getting children bullet proof backpacks what the hell is wrong with The United States, where an unborn fetus has more people fighting for its right to live than the actual living and breathing children

This is so sad I could not imagine being one of those student who had to go through this trauma.😔😔

Well before they demolish the building they need to complete a FULL investigation and not just make this a cover-up

Cannot blame a single parent for taking their kids out of school entirely forever. I'd want my kids home safe where we don't have to worry about a shooting.
  • @marksanders1301
This was such a tragedy and I think it was the right decision by turning the school into a memorial. So sad and heartbreaking.

If you've ever felt the reminiscence of walking back into a school after a summer break you'll know why this hurts so much, so many kids made memories there, met their best friends, their teachers, excited to learn another day, although I'm sure, naturally, some weren't, and now they're facing the fact that due to the reckless, horrible acts of something outside of their control has caused this place to be shut down, awaiting demolition, haven't they suffered enough? RIP to those lost in the shooting 🙏🏾

I'm in college now, but middle school was when we started worrying about the possibility of a shooter and had lockdowns (nothing ever happened thankfully). Elementary school felt so safe in that sense, and it's a shame what children that age have to worry about today.

Great decision to tear down that school those students and teachers should never have to go to that place ever again!
  • @jaridkeen123
They need to build another School. They cant just tear it down and send the kids to other schools, theres not enough space
