Look the Smiling Critters are genuinely the best designs I’ve ever seen and shit like this makes me depressed. Comic Dubs and shit like this used to just be quick fun to get up and coming voice actors and artists out there and now this is what they’ve become.

I remember when I was at a restaurant with my brother at the beginning of the month there was another table where there was like a 2 year old kid watching videos with the volume up really loud. At a certain point there was a video with a lot of people screaming and so I came over to politely ask to turn it down. On the screen who do I find? Why, Huggy Wuggy. I wanted to so badly tell the family to pay better attention to what their kids watch, but that would've been really rude so I just kept to the noise issue. It's really horrifying seeing the young kids watching this cheaply made schlock in-person though.

I think the most infuriating thing is that the animation isn’t terrible in Buggy Huggy’s fake gameplay. It’s not fantastic per say, but it’s not horrible. The issue is that it’s getting put up next to a game made by some pretty solid animators. Like. If the dude just sat down and made his own mascot horror, it would be mid, but it would be more respectable and harder to mock.

You see this is why Preston's Hourglass is the best mascot horror. Instead of content farms, it just has 50 different rap battle.

uhyeah, idk if you know this but cougar macdowall recently got into trouble after releasing a genderbent hell’s greatest dad cover. not only did people slam him for his extremely suggestive thumbnails and content, but members of the vs tabi fnf mod team came out and talked about the way he mistreated them. it even got to the point that homskiy, the original owner of tabi, came back and took back ownership of his character from cougar. cougar’s promised to put mature content warnings on his future videos but that doesn’t negate the damage that’s already been done 😭

I still can’t believe Poppy Playtime can be categorized as “for kids” when the third chapter was absolutely horrifying and dark, it’s like saying Hazbin Hotel is for kids 😂

Seeing what has become of Comic Dubs nowadays after my fond memories of Undertale Comic Dubs by people like Starbot Dubs, it's just... sad, really. I remember being absolutely glued to the screen for the Undertale Christmas Party AU dubs, and now instead of that we have... *this stuff*.

When Poppy Playtime 3 was released I thought to myself “No way the content farms can do anything to farm this content!” I hate myself :)

See, what sucks about content farms is that they bury the actually good stuff. There’s so many hidden gems that have come from actually talented people. For example, one I saw recently was a 2D animated version of the VHS where we hear the Prototype speak for the first time. It was awesome, had a bit of actually realistic blood, and was so well animated. No bright colours, no obnoxious sound effects, just pure art. And there’s got to be a few other stellar animations buried somewhere. It’s just so hard to find them 😭

I'll be honest, I love the Smiling Critters. They're the ONLY cartoon characters I've ever found cute. I found a lot of genuinely good fanart here and there, then I started finding the weird stuff. (Not like I actively seek this stuff out.) I found one "comic dub" video (that I didn't watch) that had CatNap and Dogday, I kid you not, having actual s*x on the thumbnail. (in their cartoon forms, mind you.) I felt like I was going insane, like why on EARTH would you draw something like that, let alone use it as a Youtube thumbnail? And the scariest part of these "comic dub video clickbait thumbnails" is that they're well drawn.
