Just FYI, the gear shift is actually on the screen once you press on the break. It's on the left side of the screen. The overhead gear shift is in case the screen becomes inoperable.

In my 2014 Town and Country I never need to touch my keys, let alone hold them on a specific spot. I grab the door handle and it unlocks. Also the door won't lock from the outside while the key is in the van.
