I want to create a high-detail motorcycle model for my next big piece of art. so on today's #3d livestream, we're going to build an extensive blockout a motorcycle. A blockout is when you create the most basic shape of your complex model in order to zoom in for details later.

If you get hung up on the details too early, you'll certainly get overwhelmed, so this process if VERY important in order to not give up on yourself (at least for me) It's not a sprint, it's a marathon.

I'm using #cinema4d, but these concepts apply to all 3D programs, so feel free to join me!

And after the lesson, we'll jump into the weekly challenge, where I show off your art from last weeks promp, "Sentimental Item"

  • As a modeler by trade I cry but your energy and efficiency for what you need for the shot is always on point ! Best of luck breaking away from the Corridor Crew! 🙌

I love watching someone that is so much further along on this 3D learning journey than I, but still learning himself and shares anicdotes of things he just just picked up from other people as well.

Not that I don't love the other boys at Corridor but it was your energy and drive that inspired me to finally get into vfx after being the student and learning for so long, afraid of failure. Thanks man for your work 🙏🏽💙

I'm glad these streams are a thing, it just lets me know that I'm not the only person with these issues of not being able to do something because I'm scared it's to complicated or if I'm not good enough to do it. Very big motivator and I cannot thank you more for making this content.

I feel sad when i see the end result of your model with comparison of video title
  • @FictionCautious
I'd love to see this when the insane detailing is finished. It will also be a very cool series of tutorials. Looking forward to this!
  • Another amazing stream Clint! Thank you for sharing this way of modeling because its a lot easier to approach.
  • So I came to this video through algorithms but had to click because I had been working on trying to make a scale model of my boyfriends motorcycle as a birthday gift, one from scratch out of various materials, and I've been in a rut for a good bit because like you said in the beginning the details make you feel so overwhelmed. Not a 3D model but I was sure I could find something here that'll make it click in my brain because I think it's gonna be relatable, see y'all in almost 4 hours. Excited to learn about modeling along the way!

Dude you literally made my day Tysm
  • more people should watch him, after 25 mins you already learned more then a lot of the average Blender tutorial people are teaching you. currently at a vfx University and its extremely important to do a good blocking out, im really happy that he mentions it. This is the guy people can really learn from.

Do a noob critique! I wanna try something so bad but it’ll take me a bit to catch up on everything and where I should even start. It’s intimating. I’m actually a machinist by trade and it’s funny how I can see some skills translating. Thanks for doing this channel

more power to your elbow. i totally get that "i want to make it myself" drive.
