The lesson for today: "is used to grooming" is not necessarily the same as "will cooperate with grooming".

A neighbour of mine had a gorgeous Samoyed who was an absolute darling . During his shedding times, John ( the owner) used to carry a lint roller with him on the walks as that walking cloud had a tendency to lean on his human friends and was somehow most affectionate when one was wearing dark colours 😂. John was a conscientious owner and neighbour 😂

My canine soul-mate is a male Samoyed we named "Sambooka" 43 years ago. He had Grade 4 hip displasia, and we never told him that. He managed to eat pizza and beer off the kitchen counter when we left him alone for 20 minutes when he was about 3 years old. He "toilet papered" our downstairs when we were at work one day. He defended our yard from snakes, seeking them out and grabbing them to shake them violently until we had snake guts on our clothing. "Booka" had his own kiddie wading pool each summer and he loved to submerge himself in that 6" of water every single day in the summer. I still think of him nearly every day. I thank the Great Creator for sending this furry angel into my life. I am eager to see him again at The Rainbow Bridge.

as a samoyed owner. there is nothing like them. They're the sweetest dogs.

In my opinion the Samoyed is one of the most loving breeds out there, and a joy to snuggle with in cold weather - a four-legged fuzzy comforter.

I always call Samoyeds clouds with legs. I adore them.

She's about the size of the male American Eskimo dog we had. He was big for that branch of the spitz family. Such a cheerful lunatic but also such a loving boy.

I had a neighboor with a samoyed and this was how I felt in love with this beautiful creature. The dog was aways so gentle, so calm, with a good coconut scent... and he was SOOOO FLUFFY! Everytime I met him in the elevator, I used to sit down on the floor and hug him. It was like hold a giant cotton candy. 😊 Unfortunately, after that pandemic times, my neighboor moved to a bigger house, so, now I dream with a samoyed, but I cant to have one cause I know they are very expensive and with high maintenance.... 😢

every Samoyed i ever knew was full of love for all living things

Lol one of these randomly showed up at my house when I was in college. I'm not a dog person so when we found no chip or lost dog post we gave him to our neighbors. Weezer was a hilarious dude who would sit on a little bike cart and go on massive rides with his new family. They loved this breed so much that when he passed they ended up getting another one but he's car sick and doesn't go on bike trips.

I work in an office with one. She is a riot, super friendly but also a sneaky little lady. She’s a kleptomaniac 😂 And she also hates when people leave or stop petting her.

It's truly fascinating and wonderful how Vanessa adjusts as she goes with every groom, and never goes "oh but we have to do the nails before we shave the paws" or anything like that. The grooming gets done and done well, the sequence doesn't matter quite so much! And I have so much love and respect for her and the way she takes each client on their own terms - dog or cat, puppy or 15 year old senior dog, health problems or crazy spicy behaviors, EVERY ANIMAL gets the same patience and loving care. That is a damn high standard to stick to, and I know I couldn't do it even with my own pets, I'd get frustrated and give up after half the shenanigans she so often sees!
