"it doesn't matter if I'm having it very often, if I'm having it for 40 years, ten times a year..." an inspirational message for us all. Definitely just about chess.

When I was a child in a chess club in the early '80s, I thought this was the only opening in chess.

Guys, this is Magnus. I remember everything I’ve ever seen or read or thought, so there was no need to repost this - I watch all your content. Nice for everyone else tho! 👍🏽

Very interesting lecture, as it helped me understand why the bishop+queen battery is so succesful in the Queen's Gambit. Maybe a way to defend from it is keeping the knights and try to exchange the white bishop? Many mates come from that battery. Interesting!

I clicked on this video initially just to see if I could detect any despair in Ben's face at having to condense the Queen's Gambit into 2 lectures. I was right!

A nice addition to your D4 course, great stuff!

33:07 in the other game black had a pawn in c6, i think black had an extra tempo because the white bishop had gone e2 before taking on c4 instead of taking on c4 directly

1:08 "When I was a kid, between the ages... nine and sixteen." Who are you, and what have you done with the real Ben Finegold? We all know that the real Ben Finegold was NEIN!!! when he started to play the queen's gambit.

I saw this video before and what I remember the most are the jokes

i love how he's like oh the tarrasch, not very popular nowadays and oh the queens gambit accepted, grandmasters just gives the pawn back but 4 years later, many top gms play those regularly lol
  • @angrygary122
Ben, you are slowly transforming physically and mentally into Roman Dzindzichashvili. Go Ben! But stay there
