The 33 Strategies of War by Robert Greene summarized as succinctly as possible in this 24-min animation by yours truly, illacertus. I received an e-mail reply from Robert Greene after waiting an approximate three months since I sent my initial fan mail linking to these summaries, in which he says Thank You.

"The art of war is to win without bloodshed or the use of force. (Otherwise) the minimum necessary use of violence."

Miyamoto's duel is a hilarious read. The duel was scheduled to begin on an a beach at a specific time. Miyamoto was four hours late. The other guy was frustrated, and felt further disrespected when Miya's weapon was a rowing oar. Miyamoto deleted the guy.

I like how he pronounces everything in its native origin language(pronunciation of blitzkrieg, napoleon etc.) and then just says Pope Leo eks intead of the tenth lmao

"I hear you're a pretty good warrior! Hang on lemme put my oar down" Pushes your boat away This to me was just so hilarious

"The art of war is to win without bloodshed or the use of force... The minimum necessary use of violence." Aw dang it. So charging a light cavalry forces head on into a much larger group of un-dead zombies isn't a good idea? Shot down in the first 6 seconds of the video. O well, I'll just film it anyway.

  • "As you are I was, as I am you will be" Wow! Very profound! This is good study material. Many of these strategies can be used as principals to succeed by as individuals. Not necessarily only for those who wage war.
  • I'd love to see you go more in depth into Mastery, as you did with 48 Laws. I credit Mastery with most of my success and hold it in much higher esteem than any other of Green's works. His latest, Laws of Human Nature, is also very very good (As I'm sure most watching this are aware.) I'd rate it as number 2 as of now, but I've only read through it once so far.

The beauty of this list is that it applies to so much more than war. Sports, office politics, art, etc. Great video.
  • @Taospark
It's important to bear in mind that there was NO such thing as a unified Blitzkrieg doctrine or plan. It was the opportune outcome of a combination of decentralized strategies including armored pushes, paratroopers, heavy machine gun use, and medium tactical bombing - all of which proved to be insufficient and obsolete within just 5 years.
