Is Deadpool & Wolverine any good? (Spoiler Free)

Avoiding spoilers while working at a theater is a herculean task; watching it tomorrow tho!

Just gonna say gen z is loving the soundtrack a lot of the songs are already getting a lot of plays on TikTok

I was worried people might get confused by the TVA but I think they did fine in explaining who they are without going overboard. Also as big fan of Loki I'm glad it didn't clash with what happened there.

The one thing you mentioned that I have seen is people saying this movie is nothing but cameos but these cameos are kinda the best cameos have been in these mcu movies

There's a lot of stuff in this movie where if you aren't in the know you might get pretty confused BUT none of that happens with the character journeys of our titular heroes which was the right writing decision

after everyone pissing on marvel, its good to have someone who just says, if you like marvel, you will like this. thank you, now I feel okay with watching this.

This is a movie that superhero fans, people who have charted the history of the superhero movie, will love. As a film it's OKAY. Light emotional threads, decent action, with some really cool performances, and mostly good humor. But for deep fans of this industry and its past, it's a love letter to everything that's come before.

Kinda hate that the old Fox characters didn't really contribute to logan or Wade's character journeys. Or that Wolverine just repeated the same storyline he has in every movie

I can’t lie, I spent most of the time watching this movie just thinking about how your Deadpool 3 pitch would’ve been much better 😭

Peter having nipple piercings and chains then saying that’s the fun part when someone pulls on it was the funniest part for me I was still laughing during the important dialogue it just killed me

This movie is fan service. Pure unadulterated gold plated fan service. I am a fan, I was serviced. I had an absolutely great time and laughed out loud more often than I can I remember. Huge thumbs up from me.

This movie is basically The Flash movie if it worked. The problem is, and it's big, The Flash movie is wrong on a concept level. So even if this worked, it still doesn't. I like Nando's pitch better. On a positive note, Hugh Jackman's acting is beautiful. If it was a person, I'd marry her.

This was Deadpool's "No way home" but without all of the energy Spiderman had built up.

I found Deadpool 1 and 2 to be like, the most middle of the road perfect split movies maybe I’ve ever seen. They are almost 1:1 ratio of incredibly entertaining and incredibly grating. This might just be me but for the direction they took this one it served the Deadpool gimmick a lot more. I kind of feel like the fourth wall self referential shtick is a little lazy and dull when the punchline is just referencing or acknowledging a random thing, but giving a major focus on the mechanics of specifically the marvel universe this time and having the jokes sort of grounded in that context is just a lot more fun and less “haha random reference” and I liked that. I also think they just commit to the idea so much more than just offhand quip, and it doesn’t feel nearly as eye rolley when they go all in and do things like fight in front of big broken 20th century fox logos and see clips of other marvel films and use it for the storytelling. Not to say everything worked for me, it certainly did not and I felt kind of exhausted by the end of this film, but I did think it was a lot of fun overall. Might go see it again in theaters just to catch anything I missed but overall I probably won’t return to it much similarly to how the first two movies were also kind of one and done for me. I really liked cable and colossus and (maybe this sounds contradictory to the rest of what I’ve said) the less grand-scale celebratory nature of the first two because it makes them a little more standalone dumb fun friendly, to the point where I’d say 2 is still my favorite of the three but they’re all pretty similar overall and I enjoyed my time. Really loved Wolverine here especially since I love the X Men characters and stories and just liked what they did with him and think Deadpool is generally just more interesting when paired with a straight man or ensemble that makes his contrast a part of the joke rather than it being the primary focus. Fun time and I just enjoyed going to the movies with my family so it was well worth the trip

You forgot to mention the moment where Dr.Doom fights Infamous Iron Man and then Deadpool breaks up the fight with his infinity gauntlet

The cameos actually impacted the story that was the best part of them

I hated the sleeves in the initial pictures, but they actually didn't bother me in the movie
