"Do you love me, Dad?" "Ask your mother." Midwest parenting in a nutshell.

“I could never replace you….I learned that the hard way with your brother” 🤣🤣🤣🤣

The dad standing in the aisle at the store talking to the random guy and taking forever is so unbelievably accurate. When I'd go to the store with my dad and he'd start a conversation with someone, I knew we were going to be there for an eternity. And as I get older, I find myself doing the exact same thing.

Live in the Midwest myself,I’m retired now and I finally called the plumber to installed a new faucet in one bathroom. He was there at my house for two days, had him replace all the faucets. He also corrected every plumbing job I had did over 30 years. Everything works correctly!!!! Next month I’m calling the electrician👍

The exasperated frustration with how he says: "You are your MOTHER'S child" is hilarious

Every trip I make to Lowe’s ends up like this, go in for a $5 item, leave $450 later without the $5 item, get home, realize I forgot to buy it
  • "Did you just say you love me?" "I think you might have missed the point." 😂😂
  • I love that that older gent was helping you out, then was happy to talk fishing with you. Love people like that

Our Wisconsin native buddy goes to Lowes or Home Depot EVERY SATURDAY MORNING whether he specifically needs anything or not, it's like how he gets the weekend started.

My Dad owned an independent paint, wallpaper & hardware store in Chicago. When he got older, he worked at JC Licht. All the contractors followed him because he knew everything about paint (he could mix color without the computerized system) and hardware, and he was a no bs kind of guy with a sarcastic sense of humor. When he decided to retire, corporate called to try to convince him not to retire. "Why are you retiring?" My dad: "Because I'm old!" In his older years, we'd go to various Ace Hardware stores all the time (he'd point out which ones were better than others) or Menards. To this day, I love finding old hardware stores - the ones with narrow aisles that still sell nails and screws individually from large barrels - just to hang out. I miss my totally midwest Dad, who knew how to fix everything. 😢

I've seen the tire change one so many times what gets me every time is the "maybe if you spent less time doing yogurt" 🤣 perfectly delivered 1:10

Your dad character definitely needs to be part of a series!
  • @ferretyluv
This dad shows his love through his actions.

You know, this video really inspired me a "Gen Z" to be more like this dad. I have now relearned how to change oil, remembered how to change a flat, learned how to make my bed military style which I have and just cleaned my bathroom which only took 10 minutes. Thank you for inspiring me midwestern dad!
  • Charlie you are my absolute favorite comedian in the world. You make my husband and I laugh everyday with your videos. We were in the audience when you came to Houghton Michigan this past November. Loved it! Great night out. 🙌🏻🤣
