This video is exactly what I needed. No fancy graphics or whatever, just up-close examples and tons of info. Thank you! I have a very pregnant lady right now and am loving learning about her.
  • This is my 2nd attempt having cherry shrimp in a tank (the 1st ones a failure because i dont have enough knowledge) and so far they have no issues molting plus watching half of em carrying eggs everywhere makes me SO SO happy!
  • @mevrSmoed
I'm new to having an aquarium and to keeping shrimps specifically. But I must be doing something right. Because I have no lack of shedding or pregnant shrimp. It's such a joy to just observe the goings on in my tank for hours on end. Thank you for taking the time and effort to educate newbies like myself. Your channel has proven to be an invaluable source of information. I finally found a satisfying answer, as to why some of my usually peacefully grazing adult shrimp, turned in to speeding maniacs, racing all through the tank. 😄
  • @alisonnicholson
Very informative. Just started keeping neo's so found this very interesting and most certainly helpful 😊👍

Thank you alex for waking me up at 6 am to learn about shrimp! Love my little shrimpy! I have found 4 from the 20 gallon i got given to me! If the krobia dont get them, ill move them to the 10 and see if they can spawn!
  • SO glad to hear you recommend leaving the exoskeletons in the tank post-molting! It’s something I have always thought to be a bit of a “no-brainer”: shrimp expend a lot of energy and need specific nutrients to molt and regrow their exoskeletons, and they will readily gobble them up after they shed them off! Makes sense since the molts would contain many of the nutrients they need to continue that process, so eating the molts allows the shrimp an opportunity to regain at least a portion of what was lost. It’s crazy to me how many resources say to remove them… (My snails also will readily consume any shrimp molts they find—I imagine they are also consuming some of those precious minerals/nutrients)
  • @DarkwolfRedsoul
Thanks you for your great videos. I am completely new to everything aquarium related but having shrimps have been a dream of mine for over 20 years. So having your videos as a reference now that i finally have taken the plunge and dared to get my first aquarium.
  • @zombiecat9073

Wow this was such a useful video. I've been watching and reading tons of things trying to figure this all out and this really clearly showed and explained everything. Thank you so much! You just got a subscriber!
  • @bald_raven5153

  • This was super informative and helpful! You sure know your shrimp. Thanks for sharing and keep up the great work!
  • @PotooBurd
This is so informative! Great job, fantastic reporting!🌻🌼🐝 Keep it up 🙌
  • Higher Order sounds pretty masonic 😂 Very informative. I always wondered what they were doing when bending their bodies almost circular. I had always thought that they were trying to clean their tails or something. Didn't occur to me that they were actually stretching their ecto skeleton to re-emerge a new . Thank you
  • @catfish9539
Such good information none of which I have heard. Thank you so much. Going to go and inspect my shrimps!
