Anyone who has ever driven, or ridden, Eastern Creek Raceway will tell you what an awesome circuit it is. It's world class! That's why Toyota tested its V10-powered TS010 Le Mans racer there way back in 1992 -- the same year it finished on the podium in the 24-hour race at La Sarthe.

The TS010 is to this day the most aerodynamically efficient sports prototype ever designed. Period. Better L/D ratio out of the box than even the Porsche 919 and Audi R18. It was hobbled from the start by significantly lower power than the Peugeot 905, inferior tires and minimal aero development despite being 20% better than the 905 aerodynamically. Consider this: If it had used the available Renault RS5/6 engine and the active suspension/semi-auto gearbox from the Williams FW-15C it could have easily set a sub-3:10 at Le Mans in 1993, faster than the 2017 TS050 lap record. Long live Tony Southgate!

The drivers Wallace and Ogawa both broke ribs during this testing marathon because of the force through T1

Jesus christ that sound :O F***ing awesome!

It used to pull 4G's round that corner, and at least 2 of the drivers got rib stress fractures over the bump after 2 weeks there.

Having lived through Group C from start to finish the 3.5L version of the sport only gives me a cold feeling, even when you can see and hear how spectacular they were. For me it was the nail in the coffin of Group C, probably as intended, as it killed the sport. At its peak we had Mercedes, Jaguar, Lancia, Ford, Aston Martin, Toyota, Mazda, Nissan and of course Porsche all running works teams at some point in time and when the 3.5L it became Peugeot, Toyota, Mercedes and Jaguar/Mazda pretty much and none of the privateers could go buy a 962 and be competitive. The best era I have seen in my 52 years, but 3.5L ruined it.

Any car that can take Turn 1 at 300km/h without lifting is incredible...

compare this to the F1 of today...I know what i'd rather go and watch!
  • As I have said before, in many automotive related videos, 5 cylinder and V10s are the best sounding engines ever design!
  • This brought smile to my face and filled me with joy.And speed, that incredible speed in corners and straights, along with that orgasmic soundtrack from the V10-what a gorgeous beast.Shame Group C died. In my opinion, best thing that ever happened to endurance racing.

Why do V10s sound better than anything else ever since the dawn of time?
  • @Amon69it
Turni in on first corner is UNREAL

The lovely and angry sound of a naturally aspirated V10.
