Incredible: NCL is selling tickets for the tender. Instead, they could hire more/bigger boats from the land. I was considering a NCL cruise, however after I saw this very useful video I changed my mind. There are better options on the market!

On Getaway at the moment. Your hints and tips have been invaluable. Thanks. Yes Deck 8 is definitely the place, quieter (a bit) and more ‘exclusive’. As you said Taste and Savour undoubtedly the places to dine, breakfast and lunch (but only open for lunch on a sea day). No brainer. Specialist dining, (except Cagneys) I find little difference in food quality but is a good change of scene. Italian always empty, Cagneys always full. Says it all. So Cagneys, you were spot on, it’s superb, better than good. Had lamb cutlets last night, cooked as requested (pink) to order. Perfect. Followed by a cheese plate to feed a family of four! Knowledgeable and helpful sommelier. Your advice to buy a two dinner specialty dinner package was spot on. Bargain! As far as water is concerned the tap water is fine (it’s what they give you at a bar anyway). Personally I didn’t think it was worth paying for mineral water. No problem in bringing a 1 1/2 bottle of locally bought water onboard. On that topic they are also not fussy about packaged food items brought onboard. The ship passengers are totally different from your trip - I’ve only counted 25 children so far and some I may have counted twice! Mainly seasoned cruisers and middle class brits and Americans. Outside areas not crowded at all. Can swim lengths in the smallish saltwater pool any time of the day. This is still a noisy ship despite being relatively child free and out of season. But there are a few quieter places I.e library, waterfront and top sun deck Entertainment first class - appeals to all age groups. If you’re into music Syd Norman’s is the place and often standing room only unless you’re super early as I think you mentioned. When I booked the agent told me that the $20 day gratuities was optional, so I decided to tip as you go. However, the onboard service was outstanding so I let it ride. The staff deserve it (hope it goes to them!). Re the wine. Good tip about paying the few $ extra per glass. Often open a new bottle for something special. (Do try and sell you the bottle though.) So thanks again for the hints and tips you’ve saved a lot of time, trouble and experimenting. Keep up the reviews and your more ‘sophisticated’ approach and presentation. ❀

Hello, We'll be going on the Getaway next year and I truly enjoy your videos. Needed info for sure. Thank you🛳🛳 Which would be better the priority package or upgrade to a club cabin?

What watch is that? Patek aquanaut?
  • I thought the specialty dining package was 69 dollars per person not 2 people for 69

Hope this information is accurate vs the misinformation you gave regarding food packages to purchase that was dead wrong
