Does this region top the others that we've built?
  • @Saini16014
I genuinely didn’t think you would even consider building tears of the kingdom after you’re done with breath of the wild, you’re actually insane
  • @Triple83
“I’m going to build tears of the kingdom” The depths: allow us to introduce ourselves.
  • I love how this started as a one man project and it has just slowly but surely become one of the greatest team efforts ever
  • @lloydbrown128
My only complaint is that you didn't add sweet berries to that part of Gerudo Town where the little girl is growing wild berries. But other than that small detail, absolutely phenomenal!
  • If you aren't happy with the rock color you settled on you could try a gradient? From that yellow pallet you started with to the one you ended up with, bottom up kind of gradient; it'd pull off that "yellow or orange?" feel as it'd be both! <3
  • I definitely feel like the rock cliffs need to be a little more brownish or yellow than they are now

Holy friggin' crap the dedication to this project is amazing haha. In all honesty, I didn't think it'd continue past the second episode as I haven't seen many bigger build projects like this actually succeed. Although I'm so happy that's not the case! I can't wait to see the next region!

Something potentially worth noting for color matching in the future: I HIGHLY recommend checking out The Textures Resource. It's part of a larger project that hosts models, sprites, sounds, and textures from video games, and The Textures Resource has the texture files from some of the areas in Breath of the Wild. (Listed under the Wii U version, not the Switch version) They have Gerudo Town and general terrain textures, so checking those out and matching the colors with Minecraft blocks will get you as accurate of colors as possible, without having to guess from the frankly intense lighting in-game.

so the reason the cliffs look kind of orange ish in that second clip you showed is because the sun was setting, and also the higher ones are a darker shade of yellow and go into more orangey colors. but at the ground level where link walks, the cliff colors, when the sun is directly above, they are definitely a sandy/yellow color. hope this helps :)

This series makes me appreciate the original game's map all the more, if it takes this much effort to re create in minecraft in the way you are, i can only imagine how tiring it must've been to make the real thing

I definitely think a mixture of yellow and brown blocks would fit the region better, but I also think mixing in some copper might be a good idea if it’s possible, as pink-orange tones of that block match how it looks far away a bit better. (Stripped jungle wood might be a good addition as well) Although I feel like the tone of the rock changes between the snowy portion of the highlands and the more Southern portion of them. The Snowy portion is definitely redder than the Southern section. Also changing the grass in the taobab region to path blocks might help with the color (unless you do biome customization to to change the color later, then it doesn’t really matter)

Once this is finished, it would be really cool if someone made the inside of all the shrines
  • While everyone else has already noted that the palette definitely needs to be more leaning towards the oak from earlier or the palette used for gerudo town, and someone else pointed out the absence of the sword from the 8th heroine statue, I haven't seen anyone mention the fact that the great gerudo skeleton is missing its wings, which is one of the main differences between it and the hebra skeleton since both or just kinda whale skeleton shaped
  • @blueboytube
Honestly the color of the labyrinth is kinda what I’d imagine the Gerudo sandstones to look like
  • I’m honestly surprised you’ve made it this far. I would never have this much patience. You have inspired me to play BOTW again despite TOTK releasing this week.
  • man this guy is the definition of the Minecrafts serious dedication achievement come on he's doing botw then straight after totk this guy deserves 1 million subs
  • @slow._.9003
I can't wait to see the yiga hideout and the labyrinth
  • @ReddBoi64
If you are still looking for a gerudo canyon block palette, I think the block palette you guys used for the gerudo town walls at 20:50 would look great! Only downside could be potentially making the labyrinth blend in too well. Also Naboris looks dope and you’re a maniac for doing TOTK too. Your gonna be working this map for 3 years 😂
  • @samjensen1513
You did a great job on the Yiga Clan Hideout, I legitimately tensed up when you were just walking through it as if you would get spotted immediately XD
