I've heard that some non-native speakers have trouble pronouncing つtsu.

I hope this video will help them.

What helped me is when I first pronounce つ long ago is saying Cat soup but remove the p and spell it as CA-TSOU and pronounce the end over sorry if it doesn’t make any sense I tried :P

I have two Japanese teachers gave up on me with Tsu.
  • Great video! :) It helped me to teach my son the proper pronunciation for one of the books he's reading!

Thank you for the video. I really like the examples part😊👍👍 ありがとうございます😊
  • This is cool! We borrow the word Tsunami in the US and I've always (unknowingly) pronounced it with the Tsu featured here even though others say it with a silent T (like Sue). Though I'm not actually sure which is the correct pronunciation in Japanese for Tsunami specifically since I'm not studying the language, still very interesting!

This makes me remember when I had problems pronouncing "綴る" when I was studying Japanese. Sounds like じ・ぢ ず・づ can be pretty hard for most foreigners indeed lol

Hmm... It sounded like "zi" to me as in Chinese word 姿 (姿态 zi tai)or 滋 (滋养 zi yang). But still thank you for making this video and providing some examples with つ. Arigatogozaimasu 😅😆😁 It's very useful and helpful for absolute beginner like me.
