  • Better late than never 😅 Shoutout to Hendryk for a great match, and make sure you keep watching til the end for a bonus accuracy test where Jenny was VERY accurate 😲
  • @iodoethane
This was hilarious! I really thought there was some special, secret top-of-the-line $1000 racquet I've never heard of 🤣
  • @SithLord17
Congratulations on winning the Irish Open! You've come a long way and genuinely deserve where you are right now! More opportunities for you guys! Thank you for the video (Compelling 1000-dollar racket lol)!
  • @Impulsage
As a true amateur myself this video was so much fun! It's so cool to see the differences when an amateur plays against a pro: the deception from having no backswing, the power and speed in the strokes and the explosivity in the movement. Very motivating to train these parts myself 💪
  • Congrats on your win in Ireland! It would be interesting to see you test a racket costing around £30-35. That seems to be the minimum spend where, instead of just toys like that $10 racket, you start to find lightweight, full-graphite rackets, that can be strung to a decent tension, and on paper at least, have similar specs to the more expensive models - so we'd see what difference all the fancy materials and technology really make!

Congratulations Jenny and Greg. Zheng Huang better watch out in 2023 😀
  • @robertbrun
I was really surprised at how the rackets leveled the playing field between an amateur and a professional. I honestly didn't think it was going to make that much of a difference. Great video!
  • these types of comparisons are so fun to watch🙏🙏, great video 🏸
  • Very entertaining and I'm lucky enough to play with a $200 raquet. Sadly, at my age, I only have $5 knees. This leaves a very noticeable $195 deficit when I walk on court.😉😁😁
  • I managed to get a refurbish TK F Enhanced Edition (from a reputable badminton shop so it's not fake) just like in the video for less than 100 USD here in Vietnam. I don't need to tell you how happy I am with the purchase. Unbelievable deal for one of the best racket in the market.
  • @daveuk9305
Another great video and good advice about trying a few rackets and just picking the one that suits you best. And as you've said so well before, same for the type of strings & tension.
  • Racket's really do work around one's skill, nice video. I also have a suggestion, could you guys make a tutorial on how to do a defensive dive upon a smash in singles, as well as the 180 looking half split upon defending a smash in singles as well? Keep up the great work!
  • @raymondkon931
This is a comparison that was much awaited. I am glad to see it being done by 2 pros.
  • Well Done on your Irish open win, dedication paying off. Useful to see the difference between the racquets, shows the importance of getting the right equipment whatever the price. I have only just changed from a 20yr old Yonex Carbonex 20, took a while to get used to the newer isometric shape on the Duora 99.

First of all congratulations on the Irish Open win. As someone who has played badminton for almost 18 years, starting as a junior in my club just for fun, now competing and coaching. Also have worked selling badminton equipment I agree with the premise. A 10€ or dollar racket is for playing outside with family in my opinion and the more expensive ones do have benefits. Although I think that most players especially beginners, intermediate players, and juniors tend to choose rackets that are too high level for them in terms of their physique or technique (skill). Same with strings and tension. Or too thin grips. There isn't that much research in badminton concerning the subject but in tennis, they have found that many (juniors especially) who play with too stiff rackets, strings and tensions which tend to create problems in the future, like tennis elbow, compromised technique and so on. From what I have seen this does seem to be the case in badminton too, and I won't lie I have been guilty of it too. People seem to forget that professional players train so much and have done so for so long that their bodies can take a different kind of abuse and do things differently than us lower-level players. I would imagine you for example have had thousands of repetitions of for example the net kill or drive with a coach correcting the mistakes away. Which makes it so that even if you are using a higher tension, stiffer racket and smaller grip you are able to squeeze and then relaxe your grip without causing problems. While for many it could cause pain (not just soreness) in the forearm not because it is a bad excersice or technique but because the equipment doesn't help (having a thin grip and high tension) or the technique isn't correct in the first place. You can't see what you are doing when you are training and our awareness isn't always the best. I at least have found that many times I think I'm doing something like it should be, but when watching video of myself to find it isn't even close. Or having a coach tell me that.😅

This is a great informative vid for ppl to understand that racket sud be properly researched n not buy the most expensive or the cheapest. Great fun vid as usual. Loved it.
  • Very nice video, but I would have honestly loved to see a comparison between a $30-60 rackets (amateur/intermediate) VS the ones above $100 (max being $200), for Advanced players. And not a one b/w $10 props VS pros.
  • Interesting video. I watched a similar type of video of video comparing a dirt-cheap tennis racquet to a top professional one. In that case, whilst the expensive one was obviously better, the cheap one fared pretty well and in several aspects was actually more appropriate for a beginner or casual player. My badminton racquet would be roughly in the $100 range and I really notice the difference when my strings snap and I have to use my one of my spare (cheaper) ones.
