If you have a scatpack or hell cat and you don't want it to get stolen, put a GT emblem on it and get rid of the scat and cat emblem
  • I’ve had my RT since 2019. Love it everyday and it never gets old. Get compliments everyday on it. Started at 23 miles just hit 70k miles this New year. No problem with it at all.

Just got me a 2021 dodge charger R/T like 4 months ago. Of course i would love more speed and power and a demonnnnn but i am so happy with my R/T. Its my first V8. I had a kia soul before this so 😂 i got that sinamon stick too! Im happy and blessed to even be in a mopar! Thank you God! And thank u for all this info!

I recently got a R/T charger. The scat and hellcat are great (wish I could afford one lol) but here the mark ups are just insane. Funny enough however, the R/T trims don’t have much if any mark up at all. There is almost a 12K difference between the R/T and Scat. The R/T is my daily driver, it’s actually very good on gas. Very comfortable and sounds great. I’m not a great driver or pro with muscle cars, so a fast but controllable car is more ideal for me lol. Nice video 👍

Glad to see how well informed you are especially talking about the r/t not having limited slip definitely imo a reason you don’t see them wreck as much and guys who have a 6 speed r/t like you did generally have a little more smarts when it comes to driving

You went through EVERY point in the book so well. Heavily underrated video. Good info to all the young people trying to get these type of cars. Knowledge is power

I just bought a DD R/T and I like the idea of the small incremental upgrades. Rather than tying up the bulk of my fun money in the loan payment and insurance I can buy some bolt-ons every few months and enjoy the new feel of each upgrade. Each time you pickup 20-30 HP it feels like a brand new car. I know this is not a direct comparison being an SUV but we’re having the same conversations in the Durango R/T & SRT FB groups. Honestly I’m not necessarily shooting for SRT or Hellcat numbers, I just like tuning aspects of owning a MOPAR vehicle. Full disclosure I was an aircraft mechanic for 20+ years so I can do most of the work that would intimidate a lot of people. I doubt that I will go as far as forced induction but who knows what’ll happen when I finally hit the limit of NA upgrades. For now I’m just enjoying the journey. Great video!😊
  • Here is another thing to consider if you are looking for performance on a budget; you can get an R/T with the super track pack which gives you the LS rear differential, all the infotainment goodies that allow you to monitor track day data, it comes with wider rims and tires, better braking system, cold air intake, paddle shifters in the automatic, larger sway bars, Bilstein performance shocks that lower the ride height, and best of all a different performance mapping to the ECU. My son bought a Blacktop Edition R/T with the STP and it puts out a few more ponies than a base R/T and has more than enough power to get yourself into trouble. That said, he still gets between 24 and 26 MPG on the highway with it. I personally think that unless you are going to be frequenting the local drag strip on the regular, a R/T with a few extras here and there is more than adequate to scratch that leaving a light with some authority itch and put a smile on most average person's face. In sport mode the R/T is a hoot to drive, it looks great, and they all sound great from the factory so it won't disappoint when you mash on it. In my opinion if it is a daily driver go R/T, if it is a fair weather, weekend warrior, or cruise night ride then step up for the Scat Pack. If you don't plan to drive it much and don't plan on trying to race light to light swing for the fences and buy the Hellcat but in all honesty there is not a street cut tire that is going to handle that amount of power on a normal road. The Hellcat and Demon are trophy cars of for someone who is serious about going to the drag strip. Just saying.
  • This is one of the best explanations between the two trim levels I've heard in a long time.

Watching this video helped me decide which one to go with R/t or Scat. I wanted a Scat but I settled for an R/T 2023. I will work my way up. No rush!
  • Great video ! Got my fully loaded 2016 RT during the pandemic in June of 2020 for 28k ! Feel so lucky cause it only had 25k miles and already had headers and a air intake so I feel very blessed 🙏🏾
  • @user-sm1ok3vt9w
I would say the most annoying thing about having a scat pack is that I cannot drive anywhere without someone trying to race me, rev their engine or roll down their window to try and talk to me. Out of the year I've had it, I think I've had maybe 5 days going to and from work where nobody bothered me.
  • @Billy326
I bought a 2008 300C 5.7 and it’s a great mopar car to get the feel. I had the mids deleted but kept the stock muffler. Sounded great.
  • Very valid points and good info....love your Scat nice upgrades....keep doing your thing my brother Happy Holidays to you and the fam 👍🏼💪🏽👊🏼
  • There's a few great points made in this video. I've owned a fully loaded 2016 5.7 Shaker M6, and loved cruising in it. It sounded great, but power was low. The 1/4 mile was about 13 seconds, and I could get around 28-30 MPG on the highway. I wanted a little more power, and started looking at Scats during the pandemic. Inventory was low, and couldn't find what I wanted. A Scat pack shaker in M6 in blue or sinimon stick. Looked for months and only found 2 in the country that matched up. One in VA and the other in PA about an hour from me in Ohio. I ended up buying a Jeep Gladiator at the time, because it fit a need. About 3 months later a 2021 SP 1320 showed on a truck at the local dealership. I ended up buying that car, and trading the wife's 2017 Charger SXT +. There are differences in every generation of mopar muscle. From sounds to performance. It really comes down to what you like, what you plan on doing with it, and your driving style. The RT is a nice starter Hemi, and some people like it. Others like myself, like not having to put $$$$ to get the same performance the Scat put down. Remember, a tuned 6.4 will always be faster than a 5.7 that's modified. Unless you heavily mod the 5.7 to beat a stock 6.4.. that's able to be done, but seems like you're throwing away money honestly. But like I said, it's what you like or prefer.. too each their own..
  • I’m more of a motorcycle person but purchased a 2019 RT challenger. I love the widebody scat but couldn’t pass up the deal I got especially with the trade in on my v6 camaro that I had at the time. The 5.7 does everything I want it to and with some exhaust mods she sounds amazing. She’s also my daily driver as well. I think for most people the 5.7 is perfect since the price point is much lower than the scat but if you have money for the 6.4 and want that boost in power why not. That wide body is 🤤
  • @tjmayer9103
Another well done video. You provided insight and specific data to make an informed decision. I'd say the 5.7 is the best option for a new buyer, looking for a Mopar muscle car.
