Thanks man. The Tatis situation felt different from past suspensions, I'm glad someone with a following put in some time to explain how and why.
  • I have never been a baseball fan but generally a sports fan. When i saw one of your videos for the first time (as well as Jomboys breakdowns) its become one of my favourite sports to learn about/watch, keep up the good work and thanks

Even if you want to say he’s innocent, this incident still proves one thing. He is extremely careless, everything from the motorcycle accidents to this drug testing issue proves that he puts himself before the rest of his team, and the rest of the team will suffer again because of it.

Crazy how far this channel has come. From a highlight type channel to a great commentary/reporting channel. Keep it up dude 👍

I hadn’t thought of it this way and there’s a damn good chance you’re right. The pharmacies are the same in Colombia. You go and describe or show symptoms and they’ll give you something. I asked for nasal spray once and ended up getting a spray that was just saline. So the next time I had to ask very specifically for congestion. Now Spanish is more native to Tatis than me, but it’s quite easy to believe he walked into a pharmacy showed them his neck and they gave him a spray. The biggest error is not telling the team doctor. I can’t put myself in his millionaire shoes, but I’m an idiot guy too, I could easily see myself getting a spray and using it without thinking twice, because who would think that a skin spray would contain steroids. But when you’re at his level, that phone call to the team doctor has to be placed.

Not sure about the rest of you guys; but when I was 20-26 I had absolutely mastered making at best questionable decisions on a daily basis. We expect these young guys to have the judgement and maturity level equal to their extraterrestrial level athletic abilities. Not saying he’s not selfish or negligent, clearly he has been, but I can definitely relate to having bad judgment at that age.

Important to point out that while nba players were tested half as many times on average, the nba season is almost exactly half as many games as the mlb season

Your videos have been so good lately. I love the consistently fast pace without sacrificing the information in the story. Love the direction you're going with the channel, keep up the good work!

The problem with baseball, as with many other sports is the people "in charge" of testing have zero incentive to find anything. The League only cares about viewership and thus did nothing when drugs were allowing players to hit more runs, get more bases and basically make a more exciting game. If nothing else the fact the punishment for getting caught is only a suspension of games and not banning from the sport is a good sign they don't really care.

As a Padres fan this may be a blessing in disguise. He gets the shoulder surgery now and who knows if he even would've been a healthy, productive version of himself this year. He broke his wrist and those who come limping into the season always come limping out of it

This channel is the sole thing that made me refall in love with baseball, the sport I loved most as a little kid.
  • @ZZ-os4nb
It is a true testament to the quality of your channel that someone such as myself who has zero interest in the game of baseball, finds these videos so entertaining. Goes to show that while the game isn’t for everyone, drama is always interesting.
  • "Known to slow down bone healing" Tatis wrist injury typically takes 3 months to heal and at the time he was suspended, he was already at 5+ months in the healing process
  • I’m not a huge baseball fan but your videos are so good I never miss one. Keep it up!
  • @sean269
The More Plates More Dates disclaimer was hilarious
  • @diegoat8832
I’ve been a light sports fan and never really got into baseball but I found your channel about a week ago and it’s slowly getting me into the sport, love the videos man.

Testing really doesn't matter. The lack testing probably would make it easier to get caught because juicers might get lax in their usage and not take the precautions to not test positive. Then they suddenly get tested after all the no-testing. They'd be like "oh shit! I didn't take the diuretic." The test can be passed easily if you take an organic diuretic. (Organic diuretic is undetectable.) The increase flow of urine, dilutes the urine. The way testing is done is only a urine test initially. If you test negative for banned substances, there is no more testing. IT'S THAT SIMPLE! With this system of testing and the player is using an organic diuretic, they only way you can get caught is if you are tested right after dosing.
