Georgia has passed a law that brands NGOs and media companies that recieve over 20% of its funding from abroad as agents of Foreign Influence. Critics say the law symbolises Georgia's drift closer to Russia. The government pressed ahead with the law despite mass protest and opposition from the country's President.

We will also adopt Russian laws in Africa 🙂. We are tired of western hypocrisy and robbery

This is not a Russian law. This type of law has been in the US since 1938. What is wrong in declaring the source of your funds for your political and economic activities ? Can you just walk into a bank and just deposit thousands or a million without being questioned of the source . This protest is just is hypocritical and being fanned from outside.
  • I do not know what is so fascinating about the EU. They are going to treat you like a second class citizen since you are not Central European. And when I mean central, I mean Germany and France and inbetween.
  • @rkm3
so...Türkiye is Asia, but Georgia can be considered Europe?
  • The law seems to be a pro independent Georgia law, not a pro Russia law.
  • @legitvidsglobal
And all the EU clowns are speaking English instead of their native languages

This law itself is nothing to go against anyone but to protect the interests of the nation. Having this law means nothing: 1) Georgia doesn’t have to be on Russia side because Russia has that law. 2) Having this law does not prohibit Georgia to be part of the EU/Nato. Georgians need to be very cautious on both sides… This law protect them. Be the EU/Nato member might not be a walk in the park.

The great Statlin’s nation. if the EU is good British wouldn’t leave the union! Hungry, Poland, Greek, Italy and many more members are ready to leave the German’s EU at any moment.

Let democracy take it's course. Let parliament votes decide.

Good job Georgia, those that are opposed to this law are the ones that fund their campaigns from outside donors and this is not good for the country because he who pays the piper calls the tune, having said that you don’t expect your country to be sovereign if you’re funded from outside.
  • Professional Protesters are real pros! Especially when protesting aginst transparency.
