Are we believing that the reports that Tua's stumbling on the field was because of a back injury?

I'm not a doctor, but as someone who has had back issues for 20 years including ruptured discs and back spasms, the thing that stood out to me is he got up, then fell down and popped right back up. He was wobbly, but still got right back up. When my back goes out, getting up from that type of position is one of the most difficult things to do.

Typing this after watching Tua be carted off on the TNF game with another blow to the head, the fencing was horrible to see. Unfortunately, this story will have a part 2. Praying Tua will be OK! 🙏🏽

Boston Connor getting quoted by a doctor is absolutely wild 😂😂😂
  • They absolutely dropped the ball on this hit. Not to mention that I have seen WAYYYYYYY too many times a player literally shows the the signs of having a head injury or something obvious happening & the "Independent whoever" doesn't do the job. I was mortified to see Tua back on the field after that.
  • I love how his teammates stop it like hey you’re not going anywhere because they immediately know he is not okay.
  • Re watched after seeing the latest hit on Tua. It's clear they mismanaged this situation and have put him in a lot of danger.
  • damn. the negligence of the dolphins is unreal. the injury he got tonight has got to be related to this. smh, will be waiting for you to make the video doc
  • If his teammates didn’t stop him and hold him up…I think we would’ve seen him have even more trouble staying upright.

I have had a back injury while playing basketball that caused my left leg to not work properly. Difference is, I wasn't shaking my head or reaching for my head. I felt it in my lower back and leg. He was concussed, no doubt in my mind.

So scary that the clip that you showed before the injury is almost exactly what happened to him less than a week later...
  • His "back" is acting up again, please consider making a follow up video including his newest injury. Thank you for sharing your knowledge!
  • I’m a Bills fan and was completely confused on why Tua came back into the Bills/Dolphins game with clearly a head injury….fast forward to tonight with the Dolphins/Bengals when Tua was carted off the field because of head trauma. Makes me wonder who has the best interest in mind for these kids!!!!! Clearly something needs to be done! WINNING is not that big of a deal. Or is it Besos? God please be with Tua and his family.
  • Another thorough and thoughtful video. Appreciate your work, Doc. Great stuff 👍

Here after the Thursday night game. Thanks for putting out this content. TBH I was unaware what exactly had happened over the weekend, until the announcers mentioned it, because I'm a Bengals fan and not actively paying attention to the Dolphins on a regular basis. Super sad about what happened to him last night...hope the kid is ok and they give him some actual time to recover now.
  • People from the fight game know Tua was on roller skates. And don't forget Davante Adams was out cold on the field last year and he was cleared.
  • This video aged well, really hope Tua is okay after all of this. Scary shit

Great video Dr Sutterer. Thank you for saying what so many of us were thinking but we don't have the medical degree to support our perspective. I often wonder how much influence the NFL/teams have on what the team doctors claim or do. This seems like such a huge miss that this whole process should go under review.
  • Hey Doc, please please review the traumatic brain injury (the severe splasticity) we all just witnessed on Thursday night game. Please also opine on how significant the damage is (can be) and the permanence of this kinda of dangerous it is for an injured person to engage back in the same activity (extreme contact sports) within 4 days from the initial injury. After experiencing a TBI, a person’s capability to be at 100% of their fast-responsiveness, gait, vestibular impairment is SIGNIFICANT

Doc, you literally are the best at this job of breaking down sports injuries. Thank you. 🐐
