I agree with slowing down to feel and see what's in your presence Snowy. Imagine doing this long walk and rushing the whole way. What a waste. Far out bogs there mate - hard going without the paths. A tip on your tent prusik knot Snowy. It can rise in high winds. Solution: tie a cord around the knot and secure it to the ground with spare peg. Easy. It will keep your vestibule nice and tight to. Nice B&B mind. Good Part 1. Look forward to the trip unfolding. Mark

268 miles is some challenge and good on you for setting yourself that challenge and I bet you are glad it was not 33C on the hike. The flagstones are not pretty but a nightmare hiking through the bog without them. Looked a busy campsite but you seemed to find quiet spot. Great sunrise on day 3 and looked like you have been lucky with the weather so far bu shame you had to cross the motorway, as it brings you back to modern day noise and pollution. Been to Hebden Bridge a few times and a canny spot and a well deserved B&B stop there lol!  Cheers Alan

So like the Lake District in places. The UK has a damp cold that nothing stops from chilling you. I feel better in Canada in -30C than I did in Cumbria in the Winter Wow. They paved it! Very nice room. You can see how nicer the weather is in the valley Glad you did not fall into the bog

A amazing walk. I did the Pennine Way, back in July 1971 with a small group from school. I was 14 years old at the time.
