A few more years passed, and there was another engineering triumph, when the team lead by Alexander Morozov created the T-54, a medium tank with massive potential for modernisation.
But no vehicle can serve forever. Despite all the strengths of the tanks of the T-54 family, in the 1950s, Soviet engineers started to work on their eventual replacements.

The local military museum near me has a T-72 Lion of Babylon tank from Iraq
-
I drove a T72 once. Gatta say it feels better to have a 40+ ton mosnter than anythink else on the road.
-
I like how the t72 has a commander sight but we can't use it because gaijin is to lazy to animate the machine gun turning the other side
-
Despite the tank being cheap and reliable in real life, all t-72βs have massive repair costs in game. Well done gaijin
-
Thanks to the economy changes Iβll be able to use this in only 50 years
-
When most Americans think of the T-72, they tend to think of the export variants that got utterly obliterated by coalition forces in the 1991 and 2003 wars in Iraq.

I have Seen alot of these T72's in syria since i lived there and a fun fact about it that soldiers sometimes use sidewalk bricks coated with metal as these armoured plates and its very affective against anti tank rpgs and sometimes they put sandbags with constrction blocks and wrap them up with construction wires surrounding hatches to protect the crew while inspecting the area or leaving the tank also a rare one i saw had an ak47 mounted at the driver seat hatch as a secondary machine gun wiht drum mags

AIR/TANK/SHIP REALISTIC ENDURING CONFRONTATION SHOULD BE PERMANENT IN GAME AND REWARD SYSTEM NEED A FIX OR REMOVE REPAIR COST
-
When are you going to give the Ariete the same zoom and FOV as the T-72AV TURMS? they have the same optics...
-
4:06 understatement of the year. Export models have brought down the reputation of the vehicle thanks to both Gulf Wars.
-
I saw a T-72 in Saumur during the Carrousel of 2019
-
Ah yes, one of my favorite MBTs. Truly a modern day T-34
-
Yes I have seen a T-72. Sin in the video, the T-90 is not a carry over modernization project from the Soviet Era. That project was cancelled. However, many things from that project were married to things from the T-80UK and that project was eventually entered into service as the T-90
-
I've only seen the T-72A in a musuem, cant remember where. Really big thing.
-
I cant enjoy the T-72B because the uptier, where everybody have thermals except me. And I haven't mentioned the stock HEAT-FS.
-
Imagine the t72 variants from other countries, that would be hell. or fun.
-
Imagine half TURMS-T in the lobby
-
Ive seen three of the serbian modifications for the t72
-
T-64 also known as a "a stack of T"

I saw my first T-72M export version at bovington tank museum I love its aggressive looks, big 125 gun, low profile great looking aggressive tracks, and its engine that has attitude sound to it
