8:55 your right. Drawing from memory is practicing what you already know, but drawing from reference is learning new things that you didn't know.

I was thinking about starting a comic series for myself, and a full pose video would be awesome, thanks for making these awesome videos, and helping all us lost artists improve!

For years I've wanted to start my own manga, but what always held me back was "I don't have the right tools" or "I'm just not high enough in skill for something complex like that". But ever since I found this drawlikeasir YouTube channel with all it's incredible tips and tricks, I've been given new hope to try again with this new manga knowledge. Thank you Marcel, don't stop drawing 😎
  • I made a story a few years ago, and I wanted to become a better artist so that I could bring it to life instead of just on a google doc, this seriously helps out a lot in just 10 minutes! Thanks a bunch for the tips! Hopefully I can see my idea come true in the coming future!

Conclusion: Thumbnail sketches + planning your poses/where the body will be facing will make your drawings less awkward and references are your best friend! Easy-to-understand, simple and great explanation! Keep up the good work! :D
  • 4:57 - I sometimes used to do smaller drawings. This helps with complicated drawings if you don't have a clear view of the overall picture. But rather than do that, I just started doing very, VERY light sketchs, and oval multiple lines of a drawing to size it all up and in, until I can determine where the strongest lines go, as I find the shape of the line with my pencil before the ink in. How people fix this usually in programs is they select an area and resize it or make it smaller (As I've seen you and Stanley lau (Artgerm) and other professional artist do.)
  • I rly rly like your guides and bow you explain these stuff I've watching all of your guides and they have helped me improve so much thanks so much marcel 💞👍🏻✨

Your tutorials have really helped me learn to draw better and understand the basics of how the body and other things work
  • Dude, it’s like I’m getting a lesson from a spunky Arnold Schwarzenegger. This is excellent! Thank you so much! I’ve always been okay at drawing, but it was a nightmare getting the pose. Erasing...starting over again and again...A thumbnail sketch has totally changed the game for me. Thank you! May you have a successful artistic career doing what you love. This was great!👍 God Bless you!
  • thank you so much- ive had no motivation to draw lately and poses make things so much more difficult and ive been drawing for most of my life, im mostly self taught but this is one of the most helpful videos ive watched yet!! while watching i was drawing and i actually got a few harder poses that ive been having trouble with cause of the perspective!! this has changed so much- like im usually really bad with anatomy and poses but this video has actually help with that alot- so thank you so much for making this, all of the other videos ive seen are really hard to follow along!! your an amazing artist and im so happy i found your channel!! thanks again!!
