  • Only if the politicians ever listened to the voices of people telling them how they should behave and what policies to enact maybe we’d be in a better place. Unfortunately, politicians only make things far worse.

We forget that freedom is the exception in human history. Freedom in the West has been a process that included Magna Carta, the English Civil War, the American and French Revolutions, the defeat of Nazi Germany and the collapse of Communism in Eastern Europe. Now we are in a time when freedom is being attacked again. The question is, do we still have the stamina to keep it, or will we be too complacent?

Pulitzer for diligently putting the Trump/Russia hoax to pen sums up American journalism pretty well.

Seems we’ve seen this divide in politics mature all around us. It has reached its logical extension by demonstrating the current mass hysteria manifested by otherwise sensible human beings. When people become frightened & insecure enough they will tend to veer toward authoritarian rule.

Gerald Ford, center for the Michigan Wolverines Football Team, would be appalled at the actors running our press today. Ann Applebaum, she's an expert, right.
  • I like my fascist with a wink and a smile and the moral certainty to convince me I am on the right side of history.
  • Accountability is distinct from crisis. We are taught to suspend our discernment and to deem ourselves as the litmus-test with which to measure our notions of democracy. It isn't just about being right, it is about the truth. Only 1/5th of our GNP is imputed on the token free-economy. The subsequent 4/5ths of GNP beyond comprehension without the federal monopoly of violence, and everything else this implies.
