An SUV exploded in a Bethesda driveway, and the owner and his family say they’re fortunate to be alive. The Hill family is definitely counting their blessings. FOX 5's Shomari Stone has the story.

Glad to hear everyone is alright and safe..
  • It’s annoying companies only escalate situations when the news reaches out to them.
  • @stcroixatlast
That’s not spontaneous combustion. That’s faulty wiring. Two totally different phenomena.

Nissan want the car to sit in their driveway for 6-8 weeks? They clearly dont want to know what the problem is because by then they will never be able to tell what happened...

Hey Mr Stone, if you hadn’t have worn those gloves and showed the camera the broken glass and burned rubble, I would never have known that there was a car-b-que in that driveway.

That's one of the reasons why I don't like gas dryers or even ovens.

It is psychological damaging the car companies need to be fully accountable
  • If this was a Hyundai, Kia, or Tesla, the news would've gone crazy.

and then a spontaneously arrived insurance payment arrived, a trip to Disney is in the works, lmao
  • @PsychoThirteen
This story has enough drama all on its own without these lame reporters desperately trying to over-dramatize all the details.
  • @EnlightnMe48
It's not an electric car this time. Please listen to the story first.
  • @jgsg2620
Holy shit, thank god the car wasn’t in the garage. That’s so scary. Nissan needs to take care of them n make it right quickly
  • @dundada7316
If this was Tesla car you know the media will go crazy with the news 😂😂😂.

    ABS system draws great current.
  • @Toby1952
Because of the way automobile technicians are paid these days (flat rate) there have been cases where a part or parts were documented as being replaced, but never were. Some jobs take longer to do than what is "allocated" by the manufacturer, so the technician doesn't even make minimum wage when performing the service, so they don't actually put in the time to replace the part, but mark that they did. Not saying that's what happened here, but that's something that should be considered.
  • @MarkovianMan
It sounds like the recall repair was not performed correctly, since they had to take it in twice. Also, was the ABS light on again?

The object that is refered to as a rim is in fact a wheel, the outer edge of the wheel is the rim.
