the people that trash Mccarthy, have no idea what their talking about. All I know about Mccarthy is that when his team needed him the most, in critical situations, he delivered every single time.

This kid will be the best QB in this draft class. He will be the next NFL great QB from this class. No one handles pressure better than him. At the next level, QBs will get pressure. You are not in the ACC and PAC 12. Mark my words.

Not to mention practicing everyday against elite defense all year

In a vacuum, if one QB is far better under pressure, and the other is better with no pressure, I'm clearly taking the one who can handle it.

Michigan fan here: The issue with McCarthy, is that the offense he was leading was not a pass-first offense so his sample size is so much smaller and analysts are left to wonder if this is the norm or an outlier with him. But when he was asked to put the game on his back, he delivered. I think he has some work to do but he has the physical tools, is a winner and seems to have the mental capacity (which is 95% of being an NFL quarterback) to succeed if put in the right situation.

JJ has also played in a pro style offense while at Michigan, which entails alot of adjustments at the line.

Thank you! That last drive against Alabama, was amazing to take it to overtime.. No,one is showing that NFL will have you under pressure..

Justified or not, McCarthy will fly up draft boards and end up a top 10 pick watch.

Thank you for this… Drake Maye is truly the one that’s overrated…. #GoBlue✊🏾💛

People underestimate JJ's escapabiliy, pocket presence, and manuverabily. He also makes these roll out running TOWARD the target throws where his feet Leave the Air and he's able to get amazing torque on the ball. I don't see ANYONE making athletic throws like that,. and it's Part of his Repetoire : )

I’ll take the guy that doesn’t buckle under pressure and is a proven winner !
  • @RunningWild.
McCarthy played better competition and is a 3X BIG10 champion and a National champion! Who did Maye even play? What top defense?
  • I think barring injury that JJ McCarthy has the best NFL career out of all the available quarterbacks this year. Reminds me a lot of Joe Montana.

Ooh, shots fired Good analysis. I'd be comfortable with the Giants going McCarthy now.
  • Appreciate the review. McCarthy is my favorite QB in this draft. Sure, he's young and may need a year to develop, I only watched a couple of Maye's games in college, but in those, I came away with his concerns about his decision making under pressure. The arm talent with Maye is unquestionable, but I worry that he'll struggle with composure and turnovers at the nfl level. McCarthy seems to thrive under pressure which to me is the #1 trait to look for in a QB.

I’ve always liked JJ but have been sold on him as a high first rounder. The more I see and listen, the more he appeals to me and that’s BEFORE this video. I’m now firmly on the JJ bandwagon. He has the physical tools, pro-style offense experience, youth, and toughness to be a franchise QB. I hope the Raiders land him since they won’t land Jayden.

I’m a Bears fan and our GM Poles is looking for the QB that is mentally strong with good leadership skills. McCarthy who is from Illinois and could be the target after a trade down. McCarthy’s 3rd down conversion rate is unreal.
