The sheer disbelief in the fire fighter’s voice when he reported that the bridge was gone is stunning. I couldn’t imagine what that must have felt like, seeing a bridge there one second, and then completely gone the next.

Can you imagine being the first car in line that got stopped before getting on the bridge…or the last one to make it across safely? Crazy…

The federal government shouldn't pay one cent toward the rebuild. The ship's owner and insurance carrier should have to foot the bill.

It seems that the headline should read " bridge destroyed when a heavily laiden cargo ship navigating waters without a pilot on board suddenly went dark, changed course, rammed into and destroyed a critical inforstructure bridge killing several?" It didn't collapse by itself, it was destroyed.

Just curious, why is the reporter Rebecca Turco smiling during her report? It’s a very sad situation. She seems excited that she has the opportunity to report on a disaster.
