As an Italian, sometimes I eat pizza. Since I came to know about these tricks here what I did: Saturday evening , while my homemade pizza was cooking in the oven, I had a glass of water with a tablespoon of ACV, then ate a cucumber and carrot salad (fiber) and a piece of Parmesan cheese (protein and fat) Then two slices of my pizza topped with mozzarella, some vegetables and anchovies.

Lemon before food, or vinegar (I prefer apple cider vinegar) was popular in the 70s for slimming. My mother had varicose veins needing surgery before taking apple cider vinegar. She never needed the operation after that. I used it on mouth ulcers, but in any case, you need to be careful of tooth enamel. So, some water after vinegar is good. Vinegar/oil/dressing is good.
  • I have to admit, since learning about the food ordering thing I like to have 1 gherkin (pickled in vinegar) a few minutes before eating, like a starter. I'm slowly working through a 2.5kg jar one gherkin at a time!

  • There are a traditional ways of eating that have a salad as a starter, this has evolved naturally as the way of eating. Also a vegetable soup as a starter is a traditional way of eating. You are also not as hungry when you dish up your main meal so tend to naturally eat less of the main.

This is good news. First Vegetables: Eat cucumber mix with vinegar or raw cabbage mix with vinegar. Then Protein & Fats: cheese or eggs or chick peas or cooked lentils and olive oil or coconut oil. Then Carbohydrates: that you can mixed with vegetables, proteins, and fats for breakfast, lunch or dinner.

I ordered your book. Sitting by the mailbox until it gets heren. Very excited.
  • Great info, thank you 🌹🙏 Have you ever considered looking into blood types and diabetes and diets?
  • Ah! Traditional teaching said that the stomach churned food. It seems this is no longer known to be the case. The model now seems to be a syringe pushing food through. Vinegar used to be dismissed out of hand as an old wives tale. Glad someone actually decided to take a look.

My mum told me this decades ago. She passed away in 2012 in her 90s. I am never going to find out how she knew all she knew. The importance of stretching, deportment, make you own meals, order of eating, portion size, feed your gut with kimchi and fermented, and the apple cider or lemon in the morning. I have no desire to trivialise whatsoever...it is the 'why do some of us get this knowledge from our mums in the 1960s and 1970s and here are now podcasts, what happened? Even tho it was used did anyone really know about glucose levels 100s of years ago?
  • This is great to know because I have t2d since November 2019. My blood is slightly high

Wow! Such important information which will change my life! I’m wondering about kombucha, initially before a meal and during? This I’m asking relative to the vinegar as they are not the same, but perhaps similar?
  • @kesgreen4639
Kombucha also contains acetic acid, so presumably has the same effect on glucose metabolism.
  • My brother in law, back in the 80’s ate his food like that, vegetables first, then his protein, and then his carbs…… delighted to see this getting a lot more attention…… we were reared to eat carbs, veg, and meat all on the fork at the one time. 😂

Hey everyone, I also love these hacks. What I do is have a stick of Carrot. I then eat the rest of my food - deep fried chicken with chips, followed by a a twirl chocolate bar, one slice of cake. For desert I eat an indulgent white chocolate ice-cream poured in a bed of melted (dark) chocolate. I'm still fat, but i'm certian it'll start working any day!
  • So, eating crudités in vinaigrette dressing, like they do in France, works wonders?
