As huge Ram fans my brother and I had suffered through all those exciting yet frustrating seasons of the 70's. We thought we were staring down another playoff loss to Dallas in '79. When Ferragamo hit Waddy for the winning touchdown, we took one look at each other, ran across the room and slammed together so hard I broke my brother's glasses. It may have been the single most, simultaneously shocking and thrilling moment in my life as a sports fan.

Love the rich history of the L.A. Rams! Rams certainly had their share of glory days and legendary players!

I remember this game so well. I recall Bradshaw going back to pass and flinging the ball downfield, hitting Rams safety Dave Elmendorf right in the chest. If he would have caught it, he had a straight path to the end zone to record a pick 6. The game was close and I'm pretty sure the Rams had the lead at that moment, with that interception basically bursting Pittsburg bubble and giving us the edge.

Rams offensive line in '79 was one of the alltime bests.

Should've won that one! Led most of the game in a back and forth battle.

Back to the Super Bowl for the LOS ANGELES Rams! SB LVI. It should be a great one with the Cincinnati Bengals!
  • 40+ years later, I still get emotional watching the highlights. We were 8-1 against Pittsburgh going in to that game, & losing a 4th quarter lead just adds salt to the wounds. The most unlikeliest team of all those divisional winners to finally make it that far is bittersweet. We'll get the monkey off of our backs this year & overlap the Raiders' fluky championship in L.A. This is our year. Horns up!!!!!!!
