Oh wow, Russ. My dad was in the Army Air Corps as well. He was part of the 8th Air Force out of Kimbolton, England. He was a navigator on a B 17 that went down behind enemy lines on June 13, 1943, after a mid-air collision with a German Messerschmitt. He spent the rest of the war in a German POW camp. If you dad was by chance stationed at Kimbolton then they may have known one another.
  • What are the names of your music? I really like the closing song of your older videos.
  • Thanks Russ. I got to visit The Church and Taos in summer of 1993. Ansel Adams took a photograph of The Church.
  • Very nice trip. Don't know if I'll get to New Mexico this year. Thanks for sharing what you see. Take care.👍👍🤗😊

We visited Taos in 2017, during the month of January. It was colder, but not bitter cold. I aways wanted to revisit in the summer months. This video shows me what that would be like. We stayed at our timeshare, Club Wyndham Taos. Very nice place. I liked Taos and the people. We came up through the Cimarron Canyon, coming from Oklahoma. It was a nice drive. We drove through Eagles Nest. Lots of snow and very cold. Everything was white. Northern NM is beautiful! Enjoy your trip and be safe!
  • The more you travel thru new Mexico the more i love it. It is one beautiful state

My father said my mother was one of the first civilians to enter LA after WWII. She was a secretary for a construction company brought in to build housing for all of the workers.
  • Back roads are the best. Great drive, scenic. Lots of history in NM. Love that old church. 🙂👍⭐

When I stayed overnight in Santa Fe, I "boondocked" in the local Walmart parking lot with a host of other campers. I took Interstate-25 North towards Denver and I stopped halfway to discover "Great Sand Dunes" National Park in the western part of the San Luis Valley ("only" about a 150 mile detour) via Colorado Route 160. Northern New Mexico is filled with abandoned houses and ranches, filled with lizards and huge spiders (I stopped a couple of times to have a look) and it has an air of desolation rarely seen in America. Anyway it is an experience worth having at least once to make you understand what "History" means (the settling of the Southwest by Spaniards in the 1700s). Marvelous video, Russ !! RICHARD
