Hiking the Longest and deepest slot canyon in the world - Buckskin Gulch

Buckskin Gulch. It’s deep. It’s long. It’s amazing. I can’t convey the magnitude of this place. This place is one of my favorite places on earth. The feelings it invokes are powerful, and many. Awe. Fear. Respect. Gratitude. I describe it as almost a religious experience.

For Tina and I, Buckskin is special. We keep going back and every time it amazes us. The magnitude is impossible to describe. You feel like an ant. Every time you think that you’ve seen everything it has to offer, it changes. Sometimes Buckskin is dry. Sometimes it’s a wet, sloppy mess. You worry about rain. You worry about heat. You worry about cold. Buckskin keeps you on your toes.

But it’s worth it. Always. It keeps drawing us back, year after year.

If you haven’t gone to buckskin yet, you need to go. It is an amazing place.

Oh, and it will ruin slot canyons for you forever.

If you want to visit Buckskin Gulch, simply type “Buckskin Gulch permits” into Google and it will bring up the government website. Permits are required.

There are several different ways you can approach the hike; Buckskin Gulch, Whitehouse, Wire Pass or Lee’s Ferry are the main entry/exit points.

A year or two ago I put together a trail guide to give you information on Buckskin Gulch; it goes through all the details of what to expect and how to plan. If you like what you see in this video, check that one out and start planning your trip. You will not be disappointed.

Dude, this was an awesome video. 3:18 to 4:50 was so cool the way you edited it to the music. The footage looked really good too, so obviously you do know how to use that camera/gimbal lol. Just found your channel. Can't wait to see more. New Sub.

That night video is some spooky sh**! Makes me want to do it. LOL We love your videos. Doing the Buckskin gulch on 5/22/23 just a day hike for now, baby steps. I'm more than a little scared of those slot canyons. Headed to Sedona in 2 days to do some hiking and 4x4 trails, then to Flagstaff for Expo West on the 5/20/23. I have spent the week re-watching your videos of those areas. Thanks for documenting your hikes. It is a big help in deciding what to do.

Words are inadequate vehicles to convey the beauty of such places. Some must have divine acoustics.
