This is the story of a Minecraft player who possibly cheated to get a faked Minecraft speedrun world record, and not the story of their friend who did not cheat to get a faked Minecraft speedrun world record. Fake Minecraft speedruns are insane, almost as insane as this description! If you want to see a fake cheated Minecraft 1.16 world record speedrun, this is the video for you!

Hi! I'm SpoonTy, the previous WR holder for the SSG Peaceful category. My world just got turned upside down. When I ran the category, I was the only crazy guy who tried beating the game with these unstable seeds and it took me days and a lot of dedication to complete ONE run. When Nikocraft appeared and posted the new WR, I really thought it was leggit, congratulated him for the exceptional (and extremely lucky) run. It was so lucky and exceptional that it was suicidal to even THINK about beating his time, so nobody really tried to beat his WR for a very long time, and I totally gave up this painful yet fun category. Knowing that he cheated, it feels weird. When I posted my WR back then, it didn't last for very long until it was beaten and his video exploded while I was already excluded from the history of this category. That's how it is with speedrunning sometimes, but somehow I feel a bit robbed today. Congratulations to everyone who figured out the truth, and thank you for making this video. My honor is restored!
  • "This is the biggest Minecraft cheating scandal we've seen in a long time" So like, 2 weeks?
  • @Kosmo_Z
nikocraftHD getting exposed at like the same exact time as SpaceUK is just crazy
  • @wolfcl0ck
If I had a dollar at this point for every time a top minecraft speedrunner, especially one with world records, was exposed for a cheating scandal spanning a long period of time, I would have... Hell, I'd have a LOT of dollars, that's for sure.
  • With the title of Niko's run having (totally legit, believe me lol) in it, im surprised it didn't get found out sooner....
  • @Alluxing
When a Minecraft speedrunning video uses Lemmino - Cipher, you know it's about to go down

Correction for the probability: (1/3)^100 for the 3 : 57 run (1/3)^70 for the 2 : 49 run (1/3)^10 is the probability for the entire hunger bar to not move once. [one skipped cycle of the hunger bar] Each (1/3) is the independent food piece probability to stay still. So in general, the probability for a specific amount of consecutive skipped hunger bar movements is: (1/3)^(10*skipped_cycles) Anyway... Ty for showcasing my last extra evidence as well in the vid!! (I went full investigation mode lol)
  • 11:33 "but in the end, he forgot about saturation." The best pun I've heard this year
  • @Stieglitz.
The craziest thing is that if niko wasn't just thirsty for more fame and decided to cheat a world record again, he would've stayed a legend in the community with his first run
  • Awesome video! Btw a small correction at 2:02: Niko didn't keep playing as far as we knew, he kinda just came back out of complete nowhere and posted the 2:49. It was really shocking and cool at the time that he came back and got wr again but now we know the sad truth...

"Four years of lies" "april 2019" me: wait that's only one year, isn't it? isn't it...
  • @Corndog52
it’s unbelievably disturbing how many of these ‘verified’ cheated runs still haven’t been caught
  • @Cscuile
I encourage more players to go into Cheater Hunting. The best way to mitigate cheating is by placing as much scrutinization as possible on runners, prefer-ability through automation. Imagine if you got 2nd place in a category only to learn all your hard work was beaten by a cheater? Cheaters hurt real runners the most. They are the scum of the gaming community.
  • @kinorris1709
The first piece of concrete evidence that his run was cheated being based on his spawn point in relation to the path he took where he had to place blocks to keep his speed over a river is simultaneously incredibly good luck for those who want to prevent cheating, and monumentally bad luck for the cheater.
  • @Korra228
As much as it sucks to find out that iconic runs are actually fake and the respected runners are assholes, I love seeing how people are expanding the knowledge of the game to catch more cheaters. It also reinforces that you will ALWAYS be caught eventually.
  • @Lscott-fk2sn
Hold up did space also cheat his top 3% (500) run??!! Everyone who already knew him was so surprised to see him do runs like that after 4 months of starting speedruns
  • @WildFyr
Sounds like it's time to make a mod that forces your hunger bar to jiggle no matter the situation level 👀
