Hello! Hyrule Science is a series in the making where I'm going to analyze every fusable item in Tears of the Kingdom and see if I can find out anything interesting about them.

  • You forgot the most important detail of the Zonai Homing Cart It wags a little tail when searching for enemies because it's a good boy.
  • @sansudrskh2401
If you fuse a cannon to a shield and shield surf in the air if you open your paraglider you can keep launching cannonballs at enemies. This is especially useful in low gravity areas
  • @3X3NTR1K
Stabilizers have a very specific side effect when fused to a boomerang: they make the boomerang not return when thrown, instead going off course half way and falling. It's... probably not useful, but is the most niche interaction I've seen in any fusion.
  • @nitehood108
Seeing as rocket fused shields are sort of the new alternative to Revali's gale, I'd like to actually know whether or not they go higher than Revali's gale.
  • @SaturninePlaces
I'd like to point out that a cannon on one of the otherwise useless sturdy wood weapons lying around is probably the best mining device in the game. You can use the throw button to aim the cannonballs so the fusion is actually useful and doesn't blow you up every time, and is basically 50-60 bomb arrows if you fuse them on those sturdy sticks.

Stakes do have a limit, it's based on the number of uses. After sticking it into the ground certain number of times, it will just disappear
  • @kingslushie1018
For spring the logarithmic maximum before you stop gaining height is 5 . The most optimal is three springs. (It’s a secret build print you get)

Could you do a hyrule science video comparing explosives and fire bombs? Like apparently there are 3 barrel types that do 40, 60, 80 damage and you can get them at particular location but I don’t know where. How much do bomb flowers do compared to time bombs? Is there a limit to the amount out damage an explosive could do at once? How does ruby when fired from a bow damage compare to bomb flowers? And does it stack with a 5 shot bow? All questions I have and love to ask
  • A cool property of the steering stick you missed is that you can jump off them to gain bullet time even if they are not in motion.
  • @UsedNameTag13
(important character spoiler warning) When fusing a wing or hoverstone to mineru’s back part, she gets a slow falling effect when using the back part
  • @mooj.
another cool thing with hover stones is that with long throw/ longer ranged bows the hover stone will spawn further away when thrown
  • @ZtotheMills
Something I think was missed in the monster part video, is that some parts have the Axe trait. All but 1 Boss Boko horn, and also the Hinox Toenail... (Strangely the Construct Horn 2 Doesn't count as an axe) As for Zonai Parts, I learned that Elemental and Zonai parts have a unique trait when fused with boomerangs. While normally anything that emits an element drains durability when swung, Boomerangs dont drain anything but battery when THROWN. So provided it hits nothing, you can emit elements with no durability cost.
  • @DatHypnoboi
Quick little correction, fusing materials to weapons actually usually gives 25 extra durability, but tree branches are capped to only get 10 extra durability. There are a few weapons that have lower durability caps like the branch, but most will be able to get the full 25
  • @wronghouse5833
Speaking of bow range , i remember watching some video that mentions how when you fully charge the Zonai bow until it glows it actually has the longest range at 100 compared to all the other "ranged bows" at 40
  • You forgot to mention that fusing a pot to an arrow makes it able to destroy armor in 1 hit (excluding lynels)
  • @Carlos-rf6eu
if you're in a lightning storm, rotating a shock emitter to face the sky will summon a lightning bolt near instantly
  • @mrsucculence
One really neat thing about time bombs is if you shoot one from a multishot bow, you can actually fuse each individual time bomb that spawns to a weapon/shield before they explode! This is useful as you could potentially make 5 bomb shields from only using a single time bomb.
  • @ayo9290
Update on wing duration: their despawn timer only runs while they register as "gliding," which is why going backwards works. TOTK engineers have since made forward facing glider planes that last using a lot of propulsion.
  • @raarasunai4896
Here’s a fun one for you! If you fuse another weapon to a yiga blade master weapon and the attached weapon breaks in the middle of a power attack, the blade will start throwing out the wind waves from the normal charge attack rapidly as you continue the spin. Unsure if these additional wind blades eat up additional durability
