In the new Kings and Generals full animated historical documentary, we will describe the second phase of the Muslim expansion into the Eastern Roman and Sassanid Empires. In the aftermath of the battles of Yarmouk and al-Qadisiyyah (   • Early Muslim Expansion - Khalid, Yarm...  ), the Rashidun Caliphate continued its conquests and the Arab armies moved into Iran proper, Egypt, Anatolia, and North Africa. The remainder of Iraq, Syria, and the Levant was conquered in this era. This video features the late campaigns of Khalid ibn al-Walid, as well as the battles of Ctesiphon, Alexandria, Nikiou, Jerusalem, Sufetula, Heliopolis, and Nahavand. We also attempted to describe the early Muslim armies that fought against the Byzantine and Iranian forces.

37:45 A significant piece of detail here: Umar, the ruler of the Muslim Empire, traveled to Jerusalem, not with a royal entourage of servants and guards, but with a single servant and one riding camel . During the journey, Umar and his servant took alternating turns ; riding the camel and walking . Umar wore simple, coarse clothes; none could have distinguished between the ruler and the servant . As he approached Jerusalem, it so happened that the servant was on the camel and the Caliph was walking alongside. The servant had pleaded with Umar to ride instead, but he refused. Someone had earlier advised Umar ibn Al-Khattab to wear luxurious robes befitting of a Caliph entering Jerusalem, his replay was "we derive our strength and status from our faith in Islam, and not from any dress."

Damn history really is more exciting than any fiction when presented well. I've almost stopped watching Netflix after watching these. Thanks for this free and amazing series.
  • Kings and Generals one of the best YouTube documentaries I have ever watched. Brilliant and time worth content
  • @AhmedAli-gc6yr
Words can not describe how great this documentary is. I was really amazed how you could combine all these battles and events in an interesting way and a perfectly accurate chronological order, putting in mind that it all happened in a relatively narrow period of time and a vast geographical range with one of the most complicated and crucial times in the history. Giving the fact that i'm a muslim, I even gained much more knowledge about this part of history than I have ever gained during my school history classes for 12 years. Thank you so much for this amazing jobđź‘Źđź‘Źđź‘Ź

I watched Copa America final, UFC 264 & Wimbledon Final today. Sitting in front of my TV to watch the EURO final right now & I find out Kings & Generals uploaded a 2.5 hours documentary on Muslim conquests. Seems like I'll be going without sleep tonight.
  • I don't know why this is free but I ain't complaining. These guys make great premium videos and they incredibly maintain their standards

The longer the better!! I wish I had been watching these 30 years ago instead of a teacher telling me half truths and half of real history. Plus the attention to detail in the research for this channel is impressive! Thanks for all your videos

This is how history lessons should be taught.this turns history from boring subjects into interesting and engaging stories, while containing valuable information.

A subtle detail….AMR IBN AL’AAS and KHALID IBN AL WALEED where best friends of each other and they spent their youth together in Mecca living the good life as both were sons of rich men of the Quraish tribe…the coincidence was also that after many years they became Muslim at the same time…when KHALID was heading for the Prophet in Medina to accept ISLAM…on his way to Medina he encountered AMR and both were amazed to encounter each other there on the path that they knew would change their lives for good. It’s amazing to me that both the men after the passing of the prophet with many years have been such successful generals in their military campaigns
  • Another great job! You use visuals and field explanations so well. It's explained so well compared to any documentary or history classes. Thank you Kings and Generals.

“If a dog dies hungry on the banks of the River Euphrates, Umar will be responsible for dereliction of duty.” - Umar RA. If only leaders today were this responsible.
  • @magde11111
the level of available details would make this a great movie or show
  • @Ep0nz
The amount of research and detail that you/your group put into every single documentary is remarkable.

Thank you So much...in 2004 as a teenager, studying this subject from as many resources as possible, to help understand how it could might have been made possible... I always wanted to make a detailed movie about this anomaly... watching this movie, made me the admire the hard work that went in there, as the crazy details are mentioned from the tactical perspectives in visual format is exactly what a historical movie should be all about. Thank you again and Goosebumps as accuracy is to the point. God bless!
