i stand by this when i say wotfi 2017-2020 and 2023 had some of the best music

2015-2017 is so nostalgic to me. i would say 2017 is the golden year for wotfi

The humor in this series is borderline perfect. The rap battles especially feel well written. Here’s my ranking of the battles from worst to best: #9 - WOTFI 2016: Honestly the slowest paced, and drags on for much too long. #8 - WOTFI 2015: A solid rap battle, but the lower quality drags it down. #7 - WOTFI 2018: Would love to have heard more lines from Waluigi. It honestly feels one-sided. #6 - WOTFI 2019: Pretty meh with a good joke at the end. #5 - WOTFI 2022: The “recap” of how things work was a good change of pace, but I’m not a big fan of the arc it’s connected to. I’m kinda meh on the redesigns (except bob he’s perfect) Past this point are the ones I believe to be perfect, and they’re basically all my favorite. But if I had to rank them: #4 - WOTFI 2023: Solid song, and I like the departure from the standard WOTFI style. My favorite part was with the pizza delivery segment, it just flows so well. #3 - WOTFI 2021: OH MY GOD. This was my #1 for the loongest time, and the arc connected to it was my second favorite. I’ve always had a soft spot for the actual rap battles. R.I.P. Axol. You will be missed. #2 - WOTFI 2017: With how the old WOTFIs were, this is near perfection for the rap battle format. 2017 was the first one I watched, and I loved it. 5 years later, here I am now. #1 - WOTFI 2020: Ok, this one is just amazing. Every part is so well made. The arc it’s connected to is my favorite, and it made SMG3 my favorite villian… until he wasn’t. Honestly amazing. Also, it gave Meggy a voice, which is a fun reference to how Meggy is going to be in every WOTFI from now on. If you have a difference in opinion, make sure to reply. I’d love to hear your opinions.

I think I will update my top 3: 1: 2018, it feels like a rap battle more out of the other two on this list and is incredible to listen to, especially the story arc build up behind it. 2: 2022, I feel like it did the whole shift from rap more to epic musical number better and, like 2018, I found the build up satisfying. 3: 2023, doesn't really feel like a rap and feels more like an epic getaway theme, I do enjoy hearing the SMG's singing bounce off against Mario's singing and Bob's bit were he points out that everyone is singing. I really hold 2020, 2019 and 2017 in a high regard and I didn't really enjoy 2021 that much manly because of the revelation that SMG0 wasn't the real villain but rather was just a misunderstood pawn that didn't even realize he was being controlled by a deranged entity obsessed with chasing an unobtainable goal.
