Today we are learning about Harsh Sunlight. Introduced in the second generation, this weather has made an impact on the VGC metagame.

Pokémon Trivia:
Did you know that the sun setting ability Drought was not available to non-legendary Pokémon until the fifth generation? The first to have the ability, the legendary Pokémon Groudon, also does not have a resistance to Fire-Type moves (when not factoring in Primal Reversion), making it capable of being knocked out by Fire and Grass-Type Pokémon, the types its ability primarily supports. Funnily enough Charizard variants and mixed attacking Blaziken variants are able to OHKO Groudon in the Sun with STAB moves, especially if using the move Blast Burn, the Fire-Type version of Hyper Beam!
