Another episode of I can’t afford but am still watching

Seriously, if Sony had made the PS Portal capable of streaming cloud games on its own without the use of a PS5, they'd actually have a decent product on their hands Suddenly it's not an overpriced remote but rather a cheaper way to still enjoy PS5 games on the go, anywhere you want, without the need to buy a PS5 Which of course is the crux of the issue, they want you to own a PS5 AND the Portal

Now you need a steering wheel and chair and a motorized seat pad. Then you will have the ultimate GT7 PSVR2 experience.

Y’all sleeping on psvr2. From RE8, RE4, GT7. Sns1, synapse and many more. The catalogue for under a year is crazy and more dropping 😮the experiences are unreal

Gran Turismo on psvr 1 vs psvr 2 is a night and day difference. When I tried gt7 with the psvr2, it was the first time I got hyped for a vr game.

Sony really decided this year was the year to shove every possible piece of overpriced hardware down our throats
  • Honestly i really like that you took your time to explain a bit of the ssd and heatsink which I didn’t know and also explain what happens if you use a used disk drive👏👏👏 subscribed for that

Thing about the PS Portal (PSP) is all those things are software issues, so they could be updated out. Add the feature to connect it to the PS+ Cloud Service; improve the streaming service with frame dropping; and if the CPU is strong enough; qualify some really light games as "PS Portal Compatible" and have them ablt to be played on the PSP. The unfortunate thing is as said, it doesnt have Bluetooth so you cant connect headphones etc..to it. And it doesnt have an SDcard Slot for saving extra "PS Portal" games too. If it had those 2 things, when they designed it then the whole thing could be enhanced. The could even still restrict it via software to still need to register with your PS5 to keep it enabled for the extra services via your Sony account.

I remember watching my first Austin Evans video which was "Building the Ultimate PS4". Fun to see something like this all these years later!

Really appreciate this video.... I'm about to buy my first PS5, and decided on the Slim. Was a bit "worried" about some of the stuff, but your video showed and explained it all. Thanks :D

They Sony needs a steering wheel for car games in VR
  • @sickmelo15
Been saving for the PSVR 2. I play a lot of GT7 and it’s probably the best way to play when in combined with a steering wheel.

Every piece of hardware requires software or firmware to function. Firmware is stored on a flash chip while software is stored on a hdd/ssd. A disk drive requires firmware to communicate to the computer/console as well as operate the copyright checks and other initializations and the maintenance (updates) is required to keep copyright checks secure and also drives need firmware updates to prevent firmware flashing which can be used as an exploit to install malware or cfw.

I personally went with the Samsung 990 Pro for storage expansion and it works well on my PS5. I managed to get a 2TB unit for around $120.

Wi-Fi 7 is going to make some of the video transport stuff like this so good I think. It will be able to interrupt large transfers to send time sensitive packets… I bet that will help quite a bit.
  • @sikevillian
Was able afford a brand new OG ps5 this year.. awesome purchase 😏
  • @maxkoth5261
Already excited for the ultimate PS5 pro video at the end of the year

Re. Remote Play, we recently bought a PS5 Slim. My son has a 4 Pro in his room. Remote Play was ok ish, but not great. At the weekend I installed wired gigabit Ethernet (with Cat6a - because I figured I’d future proof it). The Remote Play experience is now virtually flawless! Lag is imperceivable. You do still get image compression, but on the 4 Pro it works at 1080p. I imagine the Portal would be great if your network can really support it perfectly.
