Lately been listening a lot to Jimmys musics again in 2024. It always evokes a huge deep sadness and melancholic streak in me as I remember dancing in our Toronto fabulous gay clubs in the late 70s and all through the 80s in the halcyon days just before aids swept through us . And during , refusing to see , accept the horrible nightmare losing countless friends and lovers . For a few songs each time I listen again to the Communards and. jimmy’s solo career I smile and shed a tear . Simultaneously.
