one big hole in the theory is The Orville visited Kaylon in season 2 and the planet wasn't multiphasic.
  • @cmarkn
Isn't it a simpler explanation that Isaac influenced the architects on the planet with the designs for cities and buildings that he knows best--those of Kaylon? The design didn't necessarily come from the Kaylon creators, but from Isaac's memory of the world he grew up in. No time travel, no logical paradoxes, no causal loops, and no realities disappearing in a puff of logic. "Everything should be made as simple as possible, but no simpler." -- Albert Einstein

"The Kaylons were created by a biological race. They rebelled. They killed off their creators. There are multiple copies. And they have a plan."
  • @Talking the Orville, have you considered the following science fiction connections: * ( Kaylons ) = ( Cylons ), * The Kaylons are based upon the Cylons from the original Battlestar Galactica series (circa 1978)? Note the name "Kaylon" sounds very similar to the name "Cylon."

This theory falls apart entirely. The planet Kaylon already exists in another sector of space and does not experience any accelerated time phenomenon which would still be occuring. Remember the bodies of their masters are buried underground, so you can't even say that they left their planet to build their robotic society on another planet.

There is also some similarity between the words Kaylon and Kelly. This could probably be some kind of a hint aswell.

JP lookin all cool! Greenlight Talking the Orville!
  • @marsupius
Praise Kelly, Orville season 3 is coming
  • 1. Civilization too advanced. 2. Would mean Kaylons either are on a natural time machine or know where one is. 3. To stop Kaylons, just blow up planet when returns.
  • The multiphasic planet is a separate occurrence in the Orville Universe. The Kaylon homeworld is also a separate occurrence and the former home of the biological Kaylon race.

Hello I've JUST discovered your channel, so I'm obviously subscribing ! Thanks for this theory. The Orville is really the best Star Trek around !

If Pria had not stopped the destruction of the Orville we know humanity prospered. The proof being she went back in time for the Orville.
  • Would’ve thought Isaac might’ve have mentioned his planet was multiphasic (as Kaylon are so much more intelligent than we humans and like telling us the same).
  • @kilderok
I think it would be wise to think of ISAAC as a "chessmaster" character of sorts. I may be wrong, but it appears to me that ISAAC is quite possibly the most powerful character in the show. For elucidation, see "Technological Singularity" or "Master Brain".
  • I like your ideas but Questions Could the kaylon home world be where the ship from "if the stars should appear" came from? Or maybe where that ship came from could be allies to fight they kaylon, they'd potentially be very advanced as they built that ship 2000+ years prior.
  • I'm not sure about this hypothesis, but there were a fair number of things that had more significance than were apparent at the time.

A lot of sci-fi shows have one off episodes that don't interact with others that would otherwise open a can of worms if truly thought through. This is very likely one such episode, and likely due to the rapid advancement due to the time dilation these people would advance way beyond us into beings of pure energy or just be so beyond they wouldn't have anything to say to others as it would be like trying to talk to ants.
