Dirk was HIM. That one legged Dirk fade is so iconic.

My little story about Dirk. I went to a Warriors/Mavs game at Oakland Arena back in the early 2000s. Me and my friend went to the loading area where the visiting players go to take the bus after the game. There were about 30-40 fans waiting to see the players, especially Dirk. Dirk came out and went around and signed autographs/take pics with every fan who wanted one before going on the bus. Chatted with everyone and was super friendly. Just seemed like such a humble, nice guy.
  • Such a rare personality, we are very proud of Dirk and Klopp over here, showing the world, Germany is also situated in 2024 and not 1942.
  • As a Dallas sports enthusiast and soccer player, Thank you for this! I remember Clint at the Dallas Texans soccer club. Dude took Dallas boys to another level.
  • Has always been one of the best interviews in the NBA, well spoken, thoughtful, humble, respectful, and funny. A true role model. ❤
  • Awesome episode. Dirk is the most important athlete in Dallas history, surprisingly even over any of the Cowboys.

Thank you Kate for getting Dirk on the show. That was a brilliant watch.
  • dude came as foreigner, retired not only as a legend but one of the icon of Texas
  • I am so proud to have Dirk representing Germany. He is as real as they get, I am not a fan of the word grounded but I feel the Dirk you see and hear in interviews is the real one. I mean the comments on Rooney's hair and KG and MJ cussing, he can say those with a smile but keep it respectful and truthful at the same time. Together with Timo Boll from my sport table tennis the best sports ambassadors we had the last 25 years, pure class.

WOW! Kate Abdo impressed me! Perfect german really...perfect! 👍 ...high football knowledge.... ...and a nice side effect, her looks! 😎
  • WOW. What a suprise. Dirk Nowitzki. 🙏

Kudos to Kate. I believe and feel that she brings the best out of her guests/speakers mind and personality out. She is one of the greatest in the field imo

Man, I miss watching Dirk play so much. What an absolute legend!
  • @Brsf49ers
Ha! Dirk standing next to Charlie was awesome. Big SA Spurs fan. Always respected Dirk. Was always a pain. Seems like an awesome, down to earth guy. Very cool watching the interview.
  • @chrisd997
Amazing human and player of course. What he achieved also with Germany was unheard of. His made them medal champions without having any crazy good team players. His standing ovation in the 2005 Eurobasket finals against Greece is still unforgettable for me.

I’m going to say this - I’m not even a soccer/football fan but I just enjoyed this conversation tremendously. It was dope.
