I was just playing Deltarune Chapter 2 and beat Spamton NEO (RIP) and went back to his shop to see if anything changed, to my surprise I saw a bunch of those salesmen outside and told me the story of Spamton, and as soon a I heard "garbage noise" I instantly checked the phone to see if it had to do with the Gaster noise, and when it did I had to make a video on it.

Plz Sub It'll let you be a big shot

  • Alright, so remember in Undertale in that one "fun event" the dude talks about how pieces of Gaster were like shot all across the world? What if that's what the shadow crystals are. Maybe it is pieces of Gaster corrupting certain characters by giving them a hightened sense of the world around them: Jevil realizing everyone is trapped in this world and resorting to chaos, and Spamton feeling the strings of society around him pulling on him, and seeking freedom through individual success.
  • My theory: It's not Gaster at all, it's just the annoying dog imitating him and Toby Fox is baiting all of us.
  • Jevil also got crazy after talking to a certain man... :) (Edit: wow, this is the most popular comment I ever got in my life. Thanks guys!)
  • Ok, hear me out. 1) We are aware that our choices don't matter within DELTARUNE universe 2) Gaster is interdimentional and supposedly comes from a world where choices do matter 3) Both "influenced" characters ultimately only care about freedom in different forms 4) There is one such character per dark world 5) According to Ralsei when there are too many dark worlds, the fountains will take form of some sort of Titans and dark and light worlds will merge, resulting in the end of the world I feel that Gaster wants to reshape the lightworld into one where decisions matter, so he opens darkworlds with the goal of turning one of their residents (the most freedom seeking one) into a Titan. Spamton and Jevel are probably the most powerful in their respective worlds and would likely seek to take themselves into lightworld no matter the cost.
  • Gaster to the jevel: what if I told you nothing you do matters at all? Gaster to the unlucky salesman: what if I told you there was something bigger out there and all you need to see it... Is a soul...
  • This implies Gaster has access to living in the Internet via cyberspace which is fucked up
  • I think gaster influences the secret bosses in some kind of way because every secret boss talks about freedom, that they are imprisoned just like gaster
  • Also, following the Neo fight and the conversation eyeryone has about how creepy that whole encounter was, and to quote Susie: "the hands," being one thing in a list that was disturbing. Anything "hands" just always screams Ghaster from how he is the "man who speaks in hands".
  • Now there's a 50% chance this is gaster related and a 50% chance of him just putting that there as a "deltarune" way of saying it was static
  • The game tries to imply that Jevil and Spamton's "Change" was because of the Knight, but notice how the Knight is never mentioned by anyone who used to know them. They all DO say that "Someone spoke to them/influenced them, and then they became... strange". If this truly is a Gaster reference here, though, then I think this "Someone"... is probably Gaster himself. It's possible that Gaster, intentionally or deliberately we don't know, is going to each Dark World and is talking to various people, opening their minds in the process, and transforming them into the "Super Bosses" of each chapter. This is a wild theory I admit, but for the moment, it's the only thing that makes sense to me.
  • Yknow what's interesting? It is that in the cutscene before we fight him he tells us something about "being big", this could potentially be a reference to the Titans that Ralsei was talkin about, but im not sure cuz this could also mean being big as in fame. But hey, that's just a speculation
  • @nom1489
Remember, SPAMTON NEO IS ON THE PHONE IN HIS BOSSFIGHT, THEN HE SAYS “it’s for you”
  • Y'know how Alphys found Gaster's blueprints in the True Lab and started working on Determination based off his writings? Maybe, just maybe, she found the blueprints for Metatton's robot body there, too, and built him by studying them. Why would there be a Metatton prototype in the Dark World if Alphys isn't even a scientist in this universe? Someone mentions that the dejected robot that we found in the secret dungeon belonged to a Lightner a long time ago. I do believe that Lightner was Gaster, back when he was still "alive".
  • I personally think gaster is "Mike". Spamtons friend that he said betrayed him. Because Mike/Gaster left Spamton randomly and Spamton has kept a grudge since. Plus the evidence shown in the video kinda proves this. Oh also just a helpful tip on the boss, press F1 for "Help" and each party member receives 100hp.
  • It's also interesting that this seems to be the same thing that happened to Jevil in Chapter 1. In chapter 1, Seam talks about how 'someone' talked to/started influencing Jevil, and how Jevil started acting as if life was like a game afterwards. Seam also makes a 'dark yet darker' reference in the same dialogue. It's very clear to see here that something similar happened to Spamton. My guess is that Gaster had revealed the truth of the world all being a game to Spamton, causing his worldview to change dramatically in the same way Jevil's had.
  • @FrNSICs
thoughts: gaster is behind the door in the south of town and is pretty much confirmed to be the cause for whatever it is that happened to jevil/spamton. it's also been implied that kris had been behind that door at somepoint, as mentioned by snowy and monster kid at the end of chapter 2, perhaps that was when we were making a vessel in the intro to ch 1? anyways it seems as though different dark worlds are going to be places where doors were once closed and light doesn't shine, the storage closet, the computer lab, (kris' house..?) and very likely that door in the south
  • During the whole secret boss fight in chapter 2, he kept looking up almost like if someone was controlling him- do y'all think that was some gaster like stuff going on there?
  • @dbuds685
What if Jevil, Gaster, and Spamton are both secretly a forgotten Titan? And Kris is the Roaring Knight, trying to release the third and final fountain to plunge the world into chaos. Leading to of course the three threatening Titans.
  • i think every secret boss in every chapter will have this in common: they were a respected member of their dark world with a big dream until one day gaster shows up and helps them fulfill their dream but then dissapear and the character in question turns crazy and craves freedom (thats basically what jevil and spamton tell us)
