Hezbollah’ deputy leader, Sheikh Naim Kassem, said in an interview with The Associated Press the only sure path to a cease-fire on the Lebanon-Israel border is a full cease-fire in Gaza. Kassem said Hezbollah’s role in the Israel-Hamas war has been a “support front” for Hamas, their ally. “If the war stops, this military support will no longer exist,” Kassem said. The deputy leader stated that if Israel scales back its military operations without a formal cease-fire agreement and full withdrawal from Gaza, the implications for the Lebanon-Israel border conflict are less clear.     How to ceasefire when the war goals is not fulfilled. They started this war not Israel. Israel and Gaza was peacefully till hamas 7 October atrocities.

    "Smartness" or what? Hamas (from Gaza) started the war, Hamas is still fighting & firing rockets from & holding Israeli hostages in Gaza; Hezbollah barrages Israel from Lebanon, not to mention activities/threats from Iran, Iraq, Yemen, Syria etc. So, who should or initiate & give conditions for a cease fire, Israel or Hamas/Hezbollah? Ukraine or Russia?

    That doesn't stop hamas after ceasefire, hamas dont want one, and they have said they will kill again. So no point in a ceasefire.
