Kristy Greenberg, former federal prosecutor, talks with Alex Wagner about why the Supreme Court's ruling on presidential immunity is not likely to get Donald Trump out of his convictions in his New York criminal trial, and why even the federal election subversion case is likely to still move ahead despite the best efforts of Supreme Court conservatives to contort the law to assist Trump.

He was not president in 2016 so it could not be official business
  • It doesn’t matter how overwhelming the evidence against Trump When the courts are corrupt

There is no way you can consider Jan 6 an "official act" !
  • Why would crime committed by someone prior to being president, fall under any interpretation of presidential immunity, even if you say president has absolute immunity. Why delay?
  • As far as I care, if its criminal, its not part of a president's official duty, meaning that none of the ruling from the Supreme Court should apply. Of course, given their track record, I don't expect them to apply it that way.

Shocking! The hand of oligarchs is all over this!
  • If it doesn't deal with the nation's interest, it's not an official act!
  • He is not a smooth criminal. He is an organized crime leader. Time to remove him from public office.
  • How many crimminal crimes does one individual commit before he is imprisoned? Mind boggling.

Applying law retrospectively is VERY dangerous indeed. I am not an American. However, history has always demonstrated that bad law is overturned. Might not happen immediately, but bad law is eventually cancelled.

He wasn't even the President yet..right?
  • This occurred BEFORE he was elected. Therefore, he has no immunity concerning this case.
  • WHAT is going to take this piece of human waste down? WHAT?!

How can ANY person of good will defend this cartoon former president?
