Alan Watts was an incredible philosopher and speaker who had a unique way of exploring Eastern philosophy and spirituality. His captivating lectures and books have inspired countless people around the world.

Alan Watts was born in England in 1915 and developed a deep interest in Eastern philosophy from a young age. He studied Buddhism, Taoism, and Hinduism, and became a renowned interpreter of these philosophies for Western audiences. His ability to bridge the gap between Eastern and Western thought made him a popular figure in the counterculture movement of the 1960s.

One of the central themes in Watts' teachings was the concept of "the self." He explored the idea that our sense of self is an illusion, and that we are all interconnected with the universe. He encouraged people to embrace the present moment and find joy in the simple act of being alive.

Watts had a way of delivering profound insights with a sense of humor and playfulness. He believed that life should be approached with a sense of wonder and curiosity, and that we should not take ourselves too seriously. His lectures often included anecdotes, stories, and metaphors that helped illustrate his points in an engaging and relatable way.

In addition to his lectures, Watts wrote numerous books on topics such as Zen Buddhism, Taoism, and the nature of consciousness. Some of his most well-known works include "The Wisdom of Insecurity," "The Book: On the Taboo Against Knowing Who You Are," and "The Way of Zen."

Alan Watts passed away in 1973, but his teachings continue to resonate with people today. His ability to distill complex philosophical concepts into accessible and relatable ideas has made him a beloved figure in the world of spirituality and philosophy.

I would love for Mr Watts to come back and see what the world has become. And I'm certain his first words would be, "I told you so" 😊

Literally yesterday I had a long train of thought about how at least in America, "Land of The Free." None of us are truly free. We're all slaves. Slaves to debt, loans, and bankers. Fucking crazy how this video also came out yesterday. We have more power and control over our lives than we think we do! I'm working on fixing my life every day. One step at a time. I hope you are too!
  • We are enslaved by the system to get up at a certain time and to go to a job in which we depise just to survive and to keep a roof over our heads .How absured ,slavery was never abolished it became the 9 to 5 ! The Belfast poet Andrew Beattie. Food for thought...

Having a job gives you something to get up and go and do everyday . Also gives me someone to talk too on a daily basis . I had a week off a few weeks ago, the weather was shite and there was literally nothing to do and noone to talk too as they were all at work 🤷🤷

It's scary to separate yourself from the standard conditioning. It's a path that's hard but incredibly rewarding. That meditation book called 30 Days to Discover Who I Am by Harper Daniels is helping

He’s right. It’s counterintuitive and it takes a lot of miracles to adapt your life to his reasoning. But it’s worth it
  • @gangstalkthis
Do what you do because you LOVE IT, if you are doing it just for survival then you are a slave. It’s actually something very simple to understand ❤️💫

    There is always a cougher😂
  • I've been going through some beautiful, exiting but scary times and my mind was very loud. Then I started to listen to him and it's like a meditation, keeps me grounded and present. My mind slowed down a lot, thanks and rest in peace. 🙏
  • Always spitting the truth and imparting wisdom for the rest of us and hopefully generations to come. An absolute legend ❤

There is a good point in this. If automation relieved us of having to work so hard, and the product of automation was distributed wealth as well as profit for the proprietorships, we would do well Instead, we have things like Amazon.
